Praising Abhishek Bachchan or slighting Shahrukh Khan?

Mumbai: A few months ago the industry was abuzz with rumours about an alleged fallout between Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan during the release of Dhoom 3. There were whispers about Khan being responsible for chopping Bachchan Jr's role in the film.
But now it appears that the perfectionist Khan is willing to rework his equation with Abhishek. Aamir has been praising AB's look in Farah Khan's upcoming film Happy New Year.
While some of the industry bigwigs appreciate Khan's gesture towards Abhishek, a certain section of the industry feels that it is Aamir's way of slighting his arch rival Shah Rukh Khan. The latter, who is the leading man and producer of the film, has been garnering praise from all quarters for his super toned look in HNY.
"Why can't actors be mature and secure? A compliment can build bridges. Abhishek's consistent growth in his films is very evident. But you can't deny that SRK is the captain of this ship," our source comments.
"Every word that Aamir says is for a reason. It's quite possible that he genuinely liked Abhishek in the promos of the film, but there are other actors in the film who deserve applause too," the source adds.
