After destroying the office door successfully with their games of control, Shlok and Aastha come home early. Aastha thinks that Shlok is making a mistake by rejecting the opportunity to tie up with the American company. She decides to talk to him about this and sends chachi ki chamchi, Kavya, to fetch Shlok to the terrace on some pretext.

While Shlok is thinking that Aastha causes him pain repeatedly as if she doesn't care, Kavya comes to him and asks for his help with the kite that got stuck on the terrace. Shlok immediately guesses who sent Kavya on this mission, and asks her who taught her to fly kites. Kavya innocently reveals that chachi taught her and when questioned about the whereabouts the aforementioned chachi, she goes silent as her little brain could not come up with a lie. Shlok takes Kavya to the terrace and asks her to show the kite, to which she says that it flew away. Shlok says that she should stop flying kites on the terrace and asks her to discourage her chachi also from doing so. When he puts Kavya down, she points to a white curtain and says that her kite is right there and runs away.

This whole kite discussion was very interesting. A kite represents freedom, but it also suggests over ambitiousness and losing touch with reality. How you fly your kite depends a lot on how good that wind is. If the wind is not there, kite won't take off and if there is too much wind, the kite might be lost. If you are flying a kite from an unsafe place, there is also a risk of an accident.

Aastha wishes freedom for Agnihotri women. But she can be over ambitious sometimes, which causes her to ignore the ground realities and go after something without considering the risks. One must remain on the stable ground when flying a kite to avoid danger. When Shlok warned Kavya (Aastha indirectly) to not fly kites on the terrace, he told her to not lose contact with the ground.

Wind is essential for human survival. It is the Air we breathe. Wind is a force that we cannot control. It can vary between a gentle breeze to a destructive Whirlwind. It can affect other elements like Water and Fire too. A rain can become a hurricane and a small fire can go out of control and destroy everything in its path, when wind aggravates the situation.

Out of the Five Elements, if you consider Space as something beyond terrestrial, out of the remaining four terrestrial elements, Wind and Fire are male elements or Yang elements, where as Water and Earth are female elements or Yin elements.

I have associated controlled fires with Shlok and uncontrolled fires with Niranjan in one of my earlier posts. Same applies to the wind too. The breath that sustains your spirit and the wind beneath your wings that helps you soar, is Shlok, whereas the twister that destroys everything in its path and the scanty, immobile air that suffocates you, is Niranjan. There was a reference to wind and breathing in Saturday's lift scene too.

There is a reference to "lift" in many scenes too. When Kavya was talking to Shlok about the Kite, there was a figurine of a groom lifting his bride in his arms, in Shlok's background. In 26-SEP-2014 episode, Aastha refuses Shlok's lift and ends up being chased by bad guys. Shlok saves her from those guys and gives her a lift in his car, which Aastha accepts willingly this time. In 27-SEP-2014 episode, they both get stuck in the lift and Aastha finds it suffocating. Shlok offers to lift her up, so that she can remove that useless fan(Niranjan) and let the natural air come in. She initially misunderstands his intentions and refuses, but later she herself asks for the lift.

As Aastha is trying to hide behind that white curtain and taking a peek now and then at Shlok, the wind blows her cover away. When Shlok acts angry at her childish games, she waves the white flag and tries to reason with him about the American company. She tells him that she knows that he won't listen to her but she would still try, because people get rewards only when they try. She goes on to tell him that she heard everything about it when he and baba were discussing and that she thinks that this tie up is very good for their institutes. Shlok immediately stops her from talking further by pressing his hand on her mouth and tells her that he won't listen to her or anyone and she need not bother to tell him about what he should do with the institutes, because he would do what he sees fit. He also warns her that she better not use Kavya as her messenger to talk to him next time.

In the above scene, they repeatedly showed the Sky in the background. Sky also represents the air above the ground. The sky had white, fluffy clouds, Shlok was wearing a white shirt, Aastha was hiding behind the white curtain and she waved a white flag.

White represents purity and innocence. One cannot hide behind it as it makes things even more visible. In the scene, wind blows away Aastha's cover. Though her intentions are pure, she is too innocent to think that she can hide behind the innocent Kavya. During the Kavya's monoaction competition, she made Kavya break that stick and her cover got blown, as Kavya revealed everything to Niranjan. So Aastha should learn to not to use Kavya as her messenger as there is always a risk that the information reaches the wrong person.

White represents equality, fairness and impartiality as it has all the colors of the spectrum. White also indicates protection and encouragement. This is Shlok's quality. Though on the surface he appears to be siding with Niranjan, he is clearly aiding Aastha's growth.

White represents clarity of thought, growth and peace. Sky is a fixed background against which, all the clouds and heavenly bodies move, giving us a clear perspective of time and weather. We can have a clear outlook towards the future, if we study the happenings, change our ideas and make plans accordingly.

Aastha waved the peace flag and tried to voice out her noble ideas. But Shlok told her to keep quiet, observe the happenings around her and make decisions wisely. He also told her to never use innocent Kavya for her plans.

So those are my thoughts regarding the kite scene and some other scenes too. I blabbered about too many things in this post. Hope you enjoyed reading my nonsense. Please share your thoughts.

Rekha, lovely post. šŸ‘

The kite soaring in the sky is aastha with all her lofty ideas on changing the way things work at Am and shlok is the wind that brings her down to earth. Nice expln of kavya and why shlok cautioned aastha in not using her as a messenger in the future.

white rep all the things that you said. Hope that aastha listens and takes notice of his words and acts more carefully and with caution.

wonder what tom will bring when baba sees them in the lift. As you pointed out in yr earlier post, shlok always breaks free, be it the glass door in the office, a glass of whiskey or removing the fan in the lift. that was a nice one, the fan rep NA and ashlok together will remove him.

thanks nimmy.

shlok won't bring aastha down. he actually wants her to fly but wants her to be aware of the ground realities when making plans. terrace is not ground. it was a very interesting conversation between kavya and shlok. that whole scene was very well done.

shlok will start shouting at aastha again to appease niranjan, i guess.

Whoa..that is such a keen detail to those scenes Rekha.šŸ‘...not sure if the CV's, and director has this in mind or not when filming and writing those scenes but you make it feel better for the viewers about Shlokie's thoughts...
One thing is sure for me, NA's issue will only be resolved if Anjali comes out of the closet and may be Kaka also comes back to back off the women of the house in their battle. And Shlokie, Aastha need to work together on this issue. Shlok always liked a feisty girl in Aastha and he might not have liked it wholeheartedly when she waved the white flag; but his monologues again & again state about her apology šŸ˜•..how do we explain that?
I too felt he liked it when she challenged him that she will win the preso no matter what!!
I would like to see some thing in substantial about Shlokie, if he is fighting his own battle or not. For me it is still theory #3 the suppressed memories ..at least show that CV's after all the symbolisms ...just don't make him too dumb.

jia,

i think nothing will happen to niranjan even if anjali comes out of closet. didn't niranjan tell jyothi that she will gain nothing by revealing his real face to shlok?

shlok never reveals his plans to anyone, not even to aastha or even to himself. he doesn't have any plans actually. he just acts according to the situation in everyone's best interests, by gauging niranjan's moves carefully. that's what i feel. he survived niranjan all these years, after all!

shlok wanting aastha to apologise to baba and close the matter is because he prefers the peace that status quo offers him. he can have his baba as well as his biwi with him instead of having to lose one.

he wants aastha to have her freedom, but without alerting niranjan, because it will only cause more destruction.
