While Bollywood celebs have showered compliments on Indian scientific community for its successful Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), Kareena Kapoor is blissfully unaware of the historic moment that's done the country proud.

At the launch of a new campaign by a haircare product on Wednesday (check out photos from the event), Kareena Kapoor was summarily stumped when one journalist asked her in Hindi what was her take on the success of Mangalyaan's Mars orbit insertion by ISRO earlier that day.

Kareena's reaction was "what...what...what?" and then she added, "I need a translator. Ask your question in English."

She couldn't get the question even when asked in English, and must we add that the reporter too fumbled in framing the question right. Finally, it was the event's anchor that came to Kareena's rescue and put the question to her.

To be fair, scientific expertise isn't expected of Kareena Kapoor, but it's surely surprising to see that she was out of touch with such a proud development for the country.

Reactions to the video have been varied. Some people have also objected to why she demanded the question to be asked in English and not in Hindi which is her mother tongue.

😆😆..I am not surprised..After all this is Kareena Kapoor Khan.😛.Her hubby would have defo answered this one but not her. It amuses me that Saif who is such a well read guy is married to her..Truly Opposites do Attract..
