Katrina's new interview about BB,her success,co-stars & other film

Q. How different is your role from the role played by Cameroon Diaz (leading lady) in Knight and Day?

Katrina- This film is an official remake of Knight and Day because the makers were inspired from the film but it is just the germ or a seed of that film. We have done it in a proper way and taken only the best from the original. It is not the same film as Knight and Day. There are some similar scenes as Knight and Day like the bike sequence. There are a lot of changes made in the script by Sidharth and this is a story about a criminal or a person whom the world thinks is a criminal. The story line is the same but the presentation is different. The name of my character in Bang Bang is Harleen who works in a bank in Shimla.

Q. How challenging was it to play the role?

Katrina- I didn't work on the character at all as it was a very general character of a small town girl in a glamorous avatar. My character is very simple in Bang Bang. There is a lot of difference in between mine and Hrithik's character. My character is awe struck by Hrithik when they meet for the first time - more like love at first sight.

Q. Do you think you will be able to break the jinx that actress can't be a part of action film?

Katrina- I just think everyone is doing the kind of work that they like and what comes to them. Everyone knows that people reject many scripts and someone else does that. When I signed Dhoom 3, I remember I was sitting in my car and all I wanted to do that time is I wanted to dance and Dhoom was the best space to do that.

Q. Your all time favorite song featuring you?

Katrina- All the songs which I have danced to I have really liked. But If I have to choose one, the title track of Bang Bang is just fabulous and along with that Chikni Chameli which was another great dance number.

Q. Do you miss being a part of character driven films like Rajneeti?

Katrina - I don't miss being a part of films like that but yes I miss the experience shooting for Rajneeti. In between Ek Tha Tiger and Bang Bang I did a film Jab Tak Hai Jaan which was a dream for me. The way Yashji presents women was a dream for me and the way I was being dressed was a different kind of experience for me.

Q. You are working with Superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor. So is it that you are just being offered films with the superstars only or are you open working with young lot?

Katrina- I don't think anyone tries to approach me with a cast which they already have. Out of my last 5 films I did, 3 of them I was offered before the guy was signed for the film. I was on board talking to the director before he had the male star onboard. I don't even think of who is the part of the film, I sign a film if I like the script of the film. I am doing a film called Fitoor which is directed by Abhishek Kapoor. When I signed the film he had no other actor later on he went to sign Aditya. I love the script and his vision. When I signed New York, it was Neil Nitin Mukesh's 2^nd film and he was a new guy.

Q. There have been just 4 to 5 flops in your career so how do maintain such a great track record ?

Katrina- Nobody has the answer of why and how but since I am in the position I am happy with it and I feel it I have a good script sense. I have always tried to follow my script sense, sometimes I have been wrong but I have been happy with the choices I have made.

Q. Whom would you credit for your success?

Katrina- The first film which I was a part of was Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and the biggest credit goes to David Dhawan followed by Sohail, Salman and even Ramgopal Varma for choosing me for Sarkar. Every person with whom I have worked with should get the credit for the success.

Q. There have been reports that you don't want to promote Bang Bang on Bigg Boss?

Katrina- The marketing team decides where we are supposed to go and promote. So if a marketing team asks me to go to Bigg Boss I would love to go there. I don't think a film with such a huge scale has any need to promote the film or Bigg Boss or have city tours.

Great interview, Bang Bang looks really exciting and her role looks interesting, also the film is treated differently than the original, hopefully it's a fun entertaining film..

She seems to really want to minimize the role that salman played in her career. Guess she is ashamed of her association with him

Its raining Kat interviews.. and I am loving it cuz all of them just prove how well spoken this woman is. There is this question where the journalist is sorta provoking her to give some sensational headline.. and she knows exactly how to handle the situation. Here again she is crediting Salman, she did it in the other interview too but people misread it.

You could actually see from her way of dancing how much she enjoyed Chikni Chameli, so her answer was expected. Now if only she mentions Akshay's name during these promotions my day will be made. Lol.

She did, in the ndtv interview. But was not much, she just took the name that's it.
