Thakan is a copy of Imagine Tv's Jyoti - Page 3

What is more likely is that both Thakan and Jyoti are 'inspired' by the same novel. There are striking similarities in the way the two serials begin. Of course Jyoti goes on to add more and more subplots while Thakan is quite lean and spare. It would be nice if someone could find out the title of the original work that both serials are based on. As for Mera Naseeb being basefd on Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's Sister of my Heart, there is again an Indian serial with the same basic storyline. It wad called Shagun and it was telecast on Star Plus. Shagun was also very close to the original when it began but then went through many mindboggling twists and leaps. Mera Naseeb appears to be less complicated by comparison.
