Chapter Twelve
She woke up in his arms with a satisfied a smile on her face. Looking up at him, she noticed that he smiled too, as if he saw her smiling with his eyes closed. She propped herself up on her elbow and brought her lips close to his cheek. As her lips brushed his cheek lightly, his arm wrapped around her back and pulled her down on top of him.
His eyes opening, he caressed her cheek lovingly.
"Good morning," she whispered, kissing his nose softly.
"Good morning," he replied, tucking her hair that had fallen onto his face, behind her ear.
She watched him close his eyes as she lowered her lips to his and kissed him softly. This moment was blissful. She didn't ever want it to end. Pulling her lips off his, she lowered her head to his chest and sighed serenely.
He rubbed her lower back soothingly under the covers.
"Are you hungry?" he asked her before kissing the top of her head lightly.
"No," she muttered. "I just want to stay here."
He caressed her hair gently as she snuggled up into his chest and closed her eyes. He wanted to hold her there for as long as he could as well.
She didn't know when she drifted back off to sleep, but when she woke up, Randhir was still stroking her hair, his eyes closed.
"Do we have to go back?" Sanyukta murmured into his chest, holding on to him more tightly.
"No," he replied contently. "We don't."
"Shraddha," Sanyukta whispered, her eyes opening.
She rolled herself off his body and checked her phone. It was already eleven in the morning. Shraddha's doctor appointment should have been finished by now.
She dialed Parth's number immediately. He picked up on the first ring.
"I knew you would call," he said, causing Sanyukta to feel a pang of guilt in her chest.
"Parth," Sanyukta said, noticing Randhir's head shooting up from the corner of her eye. "How was Shraddha's appointment?"
"The doctor said that she's stable," Parth answered. "There's nothing to worry about right now."
Sanyukta let out a deep breath - she didn't know why, but the fear of losing Shraddha was too strong. She couldn't lose her daughter. She wouldn't be able to survive.
"Alright, I'll talk to you later then Parth," Sanyukta said.
"Wait Sanyukta," Parth intervened.
"Yeah?"
"When are you coming back? Shraddha keeps on asking."
"I don't know Parth. I want to come soon," she told him, longing to be with her daughter again.
She noticed Randhir's expression change from the corner of her eye. As much as she wanted to forget the world and be with Randhir forever, the reality was that she had a daughter and she needed to be by her side.
"Alright... is everything going alright? Is he treating you okay?" Parth asked, sounding genuinely concerned for her.
Sanyukta glanced at Randhir out of the corner of her eye again and noticed that he was just looking at her, as if he was trying to figure her out.
"Yes, don't worry about me Parth. I'm fine," she reassured. "I'll call you later. Bye. Don't let Shraddha miss me too much."
Then she hung up the phone and faced Randhir.
"You want to go back?" were the first words out of Randhir's mouth.
Sanyukta held on to his shoulders gently and slowly brought her lips close to his.
"For Shraddha," she whispered, pecking him softly on the lips.
He brought his hands up to caress her cheeks and she shuddered at his touch.
"Shraddha isn't with her uncle?" Randhir asked before he brushed his lips lightly over hers again.
"Parth's her uncle," she whispered, kissing him a little more forcefully.
Randhir pulled back, a look of surprise on his face.
"You've been living with Parth?" Randhir asked, suddenly looking annoyed.
"Yes," Sanyukta said, closing the gap between their lips once again.
But Randhir pulled back again.
"Sanyukta..." he said, irritation still evident in his voice. "You and Parth have been living together this whole time?"
Sanyukta felt herself frown. What was Randhir going on about? She lived with Parth, it wasn't exactly like Randhir had been anywhere in her life these last five years, so why was he complaining?
She stood up from the bed, but Randhir gripped her wrist tightly, pulling her back down.
"Randhir!" she yelled angrily. "Leave me!"
But he had climbed on top of her, pinning her arms down on the bed in the process. He captured her lips with his own and kissed her hungrily.
"What - the - hell!" she managed to splutter in between kisses.
"I don't care," he muttered against her lips. "I don't care that you've been living with him. I love you."
Then he started to kiss her neck and she arched her head back, moaning softly as he traced her cleavage with his lips.
Sliding his hand under her back, he pulled her up and seated her on his lap. She leaned down and kissed his lips softly again. She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck as he nuzzled her neck with his face and pulled her body tightly against his.
She closed her eyes as their bodies united as one. Both of their breaths grew to be more rapid. He bit on her shoulder gently, making her moan loudly.
Once they were done, she fell on top of him on the bed and kissed his cheek softly. He held her tightly in his arms, not willing to let her go anywhere.
"I want more," she murmured happily.
"More?" Randhir asked, his mouth falling open. "Sanyukta, relax a bit okay?"
"No," she whispered, and pressed her lips against his again. "I need to get pregnant, so the more we do it, the better chances we have."
"You're going to kill me Sanyukta," he moaned as her lips bit on his neck softly.
"Okay, let's go get something to eat," she decided, rolling off his body and getting up from the bed. "Get dressed!"
"You're ordering me around like you're my wife," he pointed out, getting up with her.
He slid his hands around her waist and pulled her close. She shivered as his lips brushed over the top of her ear.
"I have the right to order you around," she whispered breathlessly as he bit on her earlobe gently.
"I'm not complaining," he murmured, kissing her cheek softly. "Now you go get dressed too."
She nodded and ran downstairs, quickly hopping in the shower and washing her body while she smiled to herself the entire time. She placed her hand on her lower belly, smiling at the thought of having another child with Randhir. She wondered if they had already accomplished what they had come here for.
Once she met Randhir outside of the cottage and had happily entered the passenger seat of his car, she looked down the whole time, blushing. She noticed him smile from the corner of her eye as he drove.
As soon as they finished having dinner and had driven back, they entered the cottage together. Randhir pinned her against the wall and pressed his lips against hers hungrily, before picking her up in his arms and carrying her all the way to their room to make love to her.
"When do you want to go back?" he asked her, as soon as they had finished their lovemaking.
She leaned in closer to him on the bed, smiling into his embrace.
"Let's go tomorrow," she whispered happily. "I miss Shraddha."
"Let's live together Sanyukta," Randhir told her seriously, taking one of her hands in his and planting a kiss on her knuckles. "You, me and Shraddha."
"Randhir that's not possible," Sanyukta said with hesitation. "I promised Parth that... that..."
"Sanyukta stop with this Parth nonsense!" he snapped.
"Randhir, it isn't nonsense!" she replied angrily. "He took care of me for five whole years! You know, I respect him a lot. I can't do that to him."
"And me? What about our love Sanyukta?" Randhir yelled defensively.
"I could have asked you the same question when you left me Randhir!" Sanyukta yelled, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "Take me home. I want to go home now. I can't stand being around you for one more second."
Randhir got up angrily and pulled on his clothes before storming out of the room. Feeling an ache in her chest, Sanyukta put on her clothes too before running down to her room and picking up her suitcase.
After loading her suitcase in the trunk and sitting in the passenger seat, Randhir started to drive.
"I - I hope we were successful," Sanyukta said, finally breaking the silence after what seemed like forever.
"Me too. I don't want to look at you for another second," Randhir said harshly.
She felt her eyes glisten with tears and she turned towards the window, ignoring him. She wiped away her tears from her cheeks silently as he continued to drive.
"So I guess Parth will be around to take care of you when you're pregnant," Randhir said, and Sanyukta could sense the hurt in his words.
"Yes, he will," Sanyukta replied, trying to sound equally as venomous.
"Great."
The rest of the drive was filled with silence. Randhir pulled into the driveway of Sanyukta's house. Removing her belongings from the trunk, she started to walk towards the house.
Glancing back, she noticed Randhir look at her longingly, and she knew that her own expressions contained the same longing.
"D - do you want to come in?" she asked. "For Shraddha?"
He caught up with her, a hopeful expression settling on his face, before he took her suitcase and started to walk towards the entrance.
As soon they walked inside together, Sanyukta noticed Parth and Shraddha sitting together on the couch, both of them looking at a variety of cards.
"Uncle, I like this one!" Shraddha said, pointing towards one card.
"Shraddha, Parth," Sanyukta said, causing them both to look up in surprise.
"Mommy!" Shraddha yelled happily, getting up and running towards her mom. "I was choosing a wedding card for you and Parth Uncle!"
Sanyukta felt her heart drop when she heard that. She looked at Parth with a confused expression on her face, who returned her confused expression when he saw Randhir.
"Hi Randhir," Parth said politely, walking towards them. "Sanyukta... I spoke with the astrologer, and the best date for our marriage is next week. There isn't a date for another five months, and I don't want you to go through your pregnancy alone again."
"P - Parth," she whispered, glancing at Randhir, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "I'm not ready for this."
"Sanyukta, Parth has a point," Randhir said - and only Sanyukta could understand the concealed coldness in his voice, "You should get married to him. Nobody will point a finger at you."
"B - but Randhir," she said, her eyes wide, hating that he was agreeing to this.
"Mommy, why are you sad?" Shraddha asked, looking up at Sanyukta. "Daddy, what happened to Mommy?"
Randhir fell to his knees and held on to Shraddha's shoulders softly, and Sanyukta could see the pain in his eyes.
"Shraddha... I'm not your dad," he told her painfully. "Your dad is Parth."

Important note:
As you know, I've been very busy lately, so the chapter took longer than usual. I have to manually send out over 200 PMs (since I don't PM my whole buddy list, only those who read the story), and that takes a lot of time in itself.
That being said, if you have written a comment on this thread, you'll be able to see that I updated if you check the "My Posts" section and the title has been updated.
I won't be sending out PMs that quickly anymore. I will try and send them every few chapters, but not every chapter... so unless you want to wait to get a bunch of chapters together in your PMs (it might take a long time), I'd suggest keeping track of it this way or any other way that you prefer.
This will also hopefully let me post updates much more quickly!
