http://www.bollywoodlife.com/news-gossip/ashish-sharma-karan-johar-is-the-coolest-judge-on-jhalak-dikhhla-jaa-7/

In an exclusive interview with Bollywoodlife, Ashish talks about his ongoing shows, what he'd like and not like to do further and more...

Even though his daily soap Rangrasiya has gone off air, television actor Ashish Sharma has much more to look forward considering he is one of the finalists inJhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7. In a candid interview, Ashish tells us all about his preparations for the big day, why would he never do a show like Bigg Boss and much more...

You have come really far in the competition. How does it feel to be in the finale of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7?

I don't know it's kind of a mixed feeling right now. There is nervousness, anxiety and excitement all together. The preparations are going in full swing and a grand act is planned for the finale. I will be doing a fusion of freestyle and parkour and am also using a huge prop for the first time, so I am looking forward to this performance.

But were you expecting to come this far in the competition?

Seriously I never expected myself to come so far. Not because I didn't have faith in me or something like that, it's only that I thought I might injure myself. I actually thought I won't survive physically.

Now when you have reached the finale, who do you think is your toughest competition amongst the remaining contestants?

Right now I think it's Shakti (Mohan). She is an extremely good dancer and is also very popular.

So if not you, who do you think will win the show?

You know I really wanted Akshat (Singh) to win the show. He is not a trained dancer and is just a 9 year old kid. He has learned everything from TV and also the growth that he has shown throughout the season was tremendous. However, from the finalists I think Shakti can win the show, hands down. She is undoubtedly a fantastic performer.

Who according to you is the coolest judge amongst Madhuri Dixit, Remo D'souza and Karan Johar?

I think Karan (Johar) sir is the coolest guy. He is very approachable. Actually, all of them are very approachable; but KJo is the most fun. He is also very genuine and speaks straight from the heart.

Would you want to host the next season of JDJ?

I don't think I can do better than Manish Paul in any way. But yes, I might bring in my own style. I don't think I can host this, but I can host a show like Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai.

Will we ever see you in the Bigg Boss house?

No I don't think so. I can't cut off for so long. Also, I think I would be very boring on the show and wouldn't be able to contribute anything. I am a very private person, I don't like peeping into other people's life and nor would I want them to peep in mine.

Are you disheartened about the premature closure of your show Rangrasiya?

Obviously I am very disheartened. It was one of my best projects that I have done so far. We were atleast expecting it to run for a year as we had that much of content for the audience. So yeah, it's sad and feels very bad.

So what's next for Ashish Sharma?

From here there is a long vacation, I desperately need one. I have literally broken every bone in my body, I need some time off now.

Rapid fire with Ashish Sharma...

Who do you think is the wittiest on the sets on JDJ7?

Manish Paul

Who do you think is an introvert?

Introvert it has to me, nobody else (Laughs)

Who was the hottest contestant this season?

TJ (Tara Jean Popowich)

Who do you think is a better host, Ranvir Shorey or Manish Paul?

Manish. He is very spontaneous and is not all about the script.

Do you prefer television soaps or reality shows?

I think good scripts. I enjoy acting more than anything else.

If you ever do a Bollywood film, who would you want to see as your female lead?

Anushka Sharma. I saw her in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and she was very good. I think she can pull off any role. Actually Deepika Padukone as well, she has really grown as an actress.

So they were expecting to run for a year but why couldn't they keep the original content in that whole year?!! Why did they have TRP pressure!! Why couldn't the channel let it run with the original script only?!! 😕 So many questions no answers!! 😔

Rangrasiya...What If...Alternate Scenario...
I would have loved to know what was in the original script and hence some Musings here: http://gangasmarana.blogspot.in/2014/09/what-ifalternate-scenario.html

For those who can't reach the link:::

I remember watching a movie called 12B in Tamil, way back in 2001 as it was speculated that the movie was inspired from the Hollywood original called Sliding Doors. The English film alternates between two parallel scenarios based on the two paths the central character's life could take depending on whether or not she catches a train and causes different outcomes in her life events. The Tamil version of the film was critically acclaimed but not a boxoffice success, the reason being that people did not understand the way the movie was presented to the audience.

I have nothing specific to say regarding the performances of actors in the movie. The only drawback for the mediocre response was how they ended the movie with the central character. Fandoms were at peak for the individual actors too. The male lead and two female leads enacted by two young actors with huge respective fan followings. From a keen observation, all I could conclude was how the viewership preferred the way the story should have ended. One group of fans spent time discussing the male leads physique and cuteness quotient. The fandom of the individual female leads wanted the male lead to end up being the character who accordingly settled with their favorite. Simple as that for a 2 hour time investment.

I was impressed by the director's vision to try out something different, even if it were inspired from a Hollywood version, to think outside the box and attempt a version of screenplay suited for the desi' audience.

I for one would have loved to know the content of the actual script or rather watch the original story play out. So why not have a second season of Rangrasiya, a mere 75 or 100 episodes that could continue with What If...What If, Rudra had made it on time to reach Paro who was seriously injured. I wish the makers have the guts, audacity to start from where the Scenario 1 ended if and when Paro was killed leading to Myra and then go on to present the scenario 2 which would contain the originally envisioned script of Rangrasiya which was initially planned with Paro and Rudra only, especially Rudra continuing his BSD service. This way there is no requirement to look for logic in bringing back the dead by interspersing the story from the already executed or aired episodes.

This decision needs courage, a little innovativeness, and more than anything some amount of integrity to convince the same channel or a new one to make some never-heard before decisions. New trends are thus set on and for television. There would be someone out there who dares to lend wings to such unique concepts. Or more trend setting idea would be to make the original content into a 2 hour movie and release it on youtube. How to generate funds from there, any tech savvy team member could help. For maximum views, hail the online audience. A quick check on the colors Youtube views of the already aired episodes could just set the momentum on.

Let me make it clear. I am perfectly fine even if this can't happen, I am not mourning the end of the show, but just penning down my thoughts, if ever someone who can make this happen for now or later, chances to read this, applies to one and all.
