26Sep, Angad's life gets very bizarre

At least, so he should think. The little town of Jallore has apparently gone up in flames, thanks to the AK&KS show. First there're all the goons who barricade the hotel; then the goons blow up the stage with AK&KS on it (!); there is a fairly large amount of bloodshed amongst the crowd and rioting that goes on in the night; all that KS appears to care about, though, is that AK does not countenance her accusing Josh of generating the newspaper photographs that started it all :-( and goes out in the middle of the rioting night to get evidence, even at the cost of breaking-and-entering into the neighbourhood cyber cafe! KS appears to have become cold-blooded in her quest to accuse Josh -- when did she ever have cause to become so very jealous of Josh?? :-( There is no redeeming feature in today's show at all, and much to gnash teeth at, so leave your brains in the freezer before you watch today's show.

The first set starts with KS racing towards the theatre first in a generous lady's car, and then on foot. She apparently gets there on time; AK is waving and smiling his dashing, devilish smile at the audience, preparing to do the best show he can. The scene is a blur of switches from audience to; KS acting frantic amongst the audience; to AK looking dashing while trying to speak into the mike and noticing it doesn't work; to Bottle-Brush-Mustached (BBM) Thug holding a remote to activate the bomb (just in case the "time" part of the "time bomb" doesn't work?); to KS dashing onto the stage behind AK; to Prithvi suddenly looking alarmed at seeing KS there; to BBM Thug telling his cronies to push off; to KS pushing AK off the mike that he has just picked up; to BBM Thug pressing the button; to explosion; to chaos, chaos, chaos of bleeding fans, panicking people, and if someone competent had shot the scene, it might have been heart-breaking. :-(

(I haven't yet seen any other show really, but from what you all say most of the Balaji Telefilms (BT) shows must revolve around fixed "home" sets with very little "action/outside" sequences? In that case, the cinematographers on this show must be doing all of this for the first time, as is true for the editors? If this is indeed true, then it does show up as _rather_ poorly edited/filmed scenes, whereas there are a _lot_ of seriously good indoor footage in this show.. am I reading this correctly?)

In the middle of the chaos, KS turns over a body with a jacket like AK's and the boy in it is bleeding and probably very dead. :-( She covers her face in disbelief. But a pair of sensitive hands come to uncover her face, and she looks up into the face of her beloved. So, in the middle of all that chaos, KS collapses into AK's arms, in a deep AK&KS hug -- horribly misplaced this time, I thought. All the while, in the background, Prithvi is looking for AK, shouting his name aloud.

(Another bit of poor editing? Because I didn't get this at all. Or does KYPH just not make sense while sitting in any other than my beloved chaotic country? :-(

MIKhan _has_ to stop closing his eyes as soon as he has KS' head on his chest or I'm going to start thinking that she's got chloroform in her hair. But this might be just like saying that KS has to stop diving down towards a chest everytime she wants to do a hug -- it works very well with AK, but looks silly for Prithvi..)

Back at the hotel, Prithvi is the worried big city event manager who is frantically doing whatever he can to get his big popstars back to Bombay. While he's off arranging their trip home, AK wants to hear from KS what the hell she was doing saving his butt from a bomb that, how in hell she knew about? She tells him the whole story and ends with saying that all this horror is due to Josh; and watches while AK's face freezes into dislike for her again. Evidently, he hasn't quite forgiven her while kissing-and-making-up in front of Josh. Not that old story again, KS! Josh would never do such a thing, just get it out of your pretty little head! KS gets adamant: I have proof, see this bill from the cyber cafe! AK is crushingly dismissive: that bill could've been for _anything_ - Josh would NEVER do such a thing! Just forget about it! And he storms off in a huff.

Somehow this gets KS' back and idiocy levels up to alarming proportions: her little jaw sets - she will get compelling evidence for AK, she WILL! Despite all warnings to stay within, she wraps her silly head in a black cloth and furtively sets forth from the hotel. Being fleet of foot, and with apparently perfect knowledge of Jallore in her head, she crosses danger zones where BBM Thug's fellow goons are breaking up cars and randomly setting stuff on fire, to reach the cyber cafe!; there, not to be outdone in thuggery, she uses a stone to break-and-enter the cyber cafe! (Officer, book this loon if not for idiocy, then at least for the felony she just committed!) Through all the media that is lying around, she just happens to chance upon a floppy disk -- FLOPPY DISK, mind you! -- labelled -- LABELLED, mind you! -- "Josh Jpeg file". Our Lady of Idiocy actually pops in the FD, checks files at leisure, oh and picks up a water bottle which she presumes belongs to Josh, and walks out with all this stuff from the cyber cafe. (Err, heard of something called theft, lady/KYPH-writers? Heard that it is a crime lately??)

In the safety of the hotel, AK is feeling sorry for being so crushing to his lady love and comes looking for her. In compelling evidence that love is blind, he actually gets so worried about his lady when he discovers that she is missing from her room, that he feels the urge to put himself in danger and go looking for her in the madness of the burning riots!

Meanwhile, on her way back, KS walks into the path of a rioting mob. But this is the KS who outran The Thug's Van, remember? This rioting mob is a piece of a cake for her to escape! Some more similar trivial incidents later, that are not worthy of anyone's attention, she walks into a police station where AK is having his insides being eaten up with worry over her absence, and who is worrying the cops in return. He is so relieved to have her back (or he adheres to the non-violence principle better than I do) that he doesn't haul off and hit her for having been so idiotic. Even after he hears what it is that she has gone off to do! (I think I'm going to replace MKGandhi's little photo in it's frame on my table with an AK one.)

All he wants to do is whisk her off to the safety of the hotel, so that he can help the cops find out who the hell is responsible for all the rioting that has been imposed on the little town of Jallore. KS brandishes all her new evidence triumphantly. But we still don't quite know what it is that AK thinks. In any case, the cops want them to stay at the station for the night, promising to take them straight to the airport in the morning. End of show.

Preview: It has something to do with AK promising to believe KS forever, but not quite making any judgements about Josh. At least, not yet. :-(

(So, is this KS getting jealous - insanely jealous! - of AK's unquestioning friendship with Josh? The turn that this serial is taking, likes me not. Even more than "please don't let Josh die", "please don't let AK ever mistrust Josh"!

In all honesty, I had no appetite to accept the silliness of the AK&KS hug in the middle of the screaming, panicking audience today. I could also not accept that any part of the country could care as much about the infidelities of a pair of big-city popstars. This is Jallore, Rajasthan, where the ordinary citizen has a life! Does the KYPH-team seriously mean us to believe that a non-Bombay/metro-town would give two hoots about a pair of popstars getting busy -- or whatever it is that the photographs showed? Or that scum like Kunning Karthik - who I believe paid BBM Thug to cause the problems - have enough money to buy that many people in Jallore in order to cause a riot? Or was the point that it doesn't take that much to cause a riot in a small town like Jallore?

For a lot of reasons, I thought this was a rather insensitive and thoughtless set of episodes from the KYPH team. If I were back home, I'd consider getting the Jallore Panchayat to sue Balaji Telefilms for these episodes.

Gee, now there's a thought for some _real_life_ fun... Any lawyers on the Forum? >:-) )

Good analysis, E.
Yeah I was wondering about the AK-KS hug amidst the whole riot. I mean I love an AK-KS hug, anyday but I mean she just saw the dead body of another person and there are people getting injured and dying all around her.
About the town of Jallore, I think Ekta/Balaji creates crazy fictional towns and Ekta-land is really over-dramatic, so the whole thing about the town is probably all made up.

Hey Rupika182,

I can only wish. But my mystical, magical google tells me there _does_ exist a town called Jalore in Rajasthan! Look up

http://www.indiasite.com/rajasthan/jalore/

if you are curious. (Noticed all the "RJ" license plates in the previous episode...) There's apparently a famous Jain (?) temple there somewhere. So the lawsuit can actually be reality, unless Balaji Telefilms has already paid them a neat sum of monies to use the fair name of their town so unfairly... ? I guess they can always say "Oh Jalore?? No, no, we meant JaLLore! which is a totally hypothetical town in Rajasthan!"
