Indi di read your 281.
Liked it. I had come here ranting about the fact that they had that silly ploy of password "I love khushi". That was highly contrived. Apart from that I also thought that Khushi trying to trap Shyam might have opened up interesting possiblities. Someplace you commented, imagine what ASR would do if he came to know. it would have been exciting to watch for sure.
NK was steadfast and loyal. Also calm during this phase. I really liked him. but yes I did not like Khushi not telling mamiji everything. You used the word "distancing" in your take. Apt. And I don't understand why not tell mamiji atleast some of what is happening. Mamiji was clearly worried about Arnav bitwa she deserved to know more of what was going on.

Hopefully you don't get too bored as I launch into a parallel in Superman series. Superman was childhood almost best friends with this boy who always questioned him if he had super powers. The boy was known to not be perfect. A little power hungry. And so superman never trusted him enough to reveal his secret. in the end, feeling betrayed, the boy grew up to become Superman's arch nemesis. I always feel it was partly superman's fault for not having given his friend a chance to prove himself.

Now back to story. So khushi should have told mamiji. then maybe mamiji would not have behaved as mean as she is later. mamiji is inexcusable once shyam is exposed, but it all started with this "distancing". The writers constantly changed thing as needed. This whole Khushi Shyam charade was neatly swept away under the rugs as soon as ASR returned. Even Khushi doesn't tell him details as far as I remember, right?

Arnav finally drives back to shantivan. Khushi is still languid, can't even walk properly. Arnav helps her to walk and to climb the stairs. When they reach the threshold of the house, Khushi tells Arnav that she needs to tell him some important thing. Arnav doesn't want her to take any stress now. he thinks, they can talk later. He is about to press the bell, but khushi's words stops him,

"Don't you want to know, who kidnapped you?"

Arnav tuns back with ambiguity. And without much ado khushi reveals shyam's name. Last time she did a big mistake by hiding Shyam's truth from him. But this time she doesn't want to do any faux pass.

Inside the house nefarious Shyam has already arrived with his new snide ploy. Anjali is dressing his wound. Is she a dolt that after hearing his intention to divorce her, is still taking care of him! Shyam dissimulates innocence; he says it's just a simple wound. But his gullible wife doesn't want to listen; she wants to take care of him like a mother. By the way it is mentioned in the fake will paper that Shyam is 27, much younger than Anjali. May be that's why she is over possessive to him. Anyway Shyam continues his shenanigan that he had an accident while he was riding some khurana's car. Khurana is his client. He lost control and it banged with a tree. Nothing happened to him and he is the one who dropped him home. He recollects how he intentionally made the accident to implement his ploy. nice oberservation sohara. By the way I didn't understand, why did he hurt himself?

Khushi confirms Arnav again that Shyam is behind the kidnapping. But Arnav asks her is she sure. And she replies with confidence that Shyam is reprehensible. He wants to know, does she have the proof. Khushi says nothing, but her eyes glints with confidence.

Inside the house, Akash wants to call the doctor. But Shyam refutes, he says, his rani saheba is here and she is enough for him. He knows well how to inveigle his gullible wife with his cagey words and to use her weakpont. Mami wants to ask Shyam about the divorce thing, but Anjali inhibits her. she prefers to remain in delusion. She doesn't want to ask and hear anything. He is safe and sound, that what matters to her. She

Khushi enters the house right then. Everybody is stupefied to see her tousled state. Shyam gives her a surreptitious sideway glances. His look says that he is guilty. Payal panics and asks her what's happened. Nani is also dumbfounded, how she got hurt? Mami looks a bit incredulous though; is she thinking whether Khushi and Shyam were together as both are hurt.

Shyam comes to Khushi and asks her what's happened with her? So as Nani . Before she can answer anybody Arnav enters the house. Everybody is flummoxed to see his dirt smudged face and clothes, and his disheveled state. I didn't understand why both didn't come in together.

"Chottey" Anjali is bewildered and runs to him and so as Mami.

"Arnav bitua, how are you? Are you fine?" She hugs him in relief. Because she knows from where he is coming from?

Nani starts to cry, "Chottey how did it happen to you? And Khushi too!"

Payal asks "Khushi?"

Arnav's anger pulsates to see Shyam's audacity. after committing a cardinal sin, how cum he is here! He gives him a contemptuous look. Without talking further all the family members bring him in the living room. Maim asks him, "how did he escape?"

Anjali is awe-inspiring, "what do you mean by escape?.

Mami asks him "did he call to police?"

Nani is in consternation, "police? What are you saying manoroma? Chottey, you went abroad right?"

Mami' says in a repartee, "Sasuma, Arnav didn't reach his destination."

All are flummoxed to hear this. But Shyam tries to percolate by hiding his look. All have questions in their eyes.

"what Mami is saying? You went to Scotland and you called me from their. You also sent gift for us." Anjali charges him with fusillade of questions.

Mami says, as Arnav has returned, then there is no point to hide the truth.

Anjali rankles, what truth she is talking about, why they are beating around the bush?

Arnav tells her to relax. But how Anjali can relax, when he is in such condition? She is not understanding what Mami is saying. Shyam tells Anjali to leave this matter for now, cause Saale sahab looks tired.

Mami gets sullen to hear shyam, "Damatji, it's a very important matter, can't stall like that. It has to be discussed right now."

Anjali also assents her. Mami is enraged, she says "not to say quiet, Arnav bitua didn't go to Scotland. He was kidnapped."

All are aghast to hear this.

Great candid take sohara. There is a lot that I did not understand in these following minutes of the clifftop. Why did Shyam hurt himself? Did he know Anjali suspects him, other wise why did he want the sympathy? Why did Khushi come in alone and ASR follow later. And why did he keep quiet and let mami explain about the kidnap.

watched 289 today.

20 minutes of everyone else talking except ASR. I liked Khushi finally saying enough is enough everyone needs to know about Shyam. How sweetly she kept holding Anjali's hand, wouldn't we do that even in real life if you were about to do something painful but necessary.

When NK told Khushi he was proud of her, I had tears in my eyes. And for a moment my breath hitched completely when he remained silent. I was convinced some bad sad twist was coming up. But then he sides with Khushi. And was almost scary with Shyam. my respect for NK has just increased.

Now back to what is really confounding me. In other TV shows am used to this show down where perfect bahu has to do all the crying and convincing and husband meekly stands in the background. but this is IPK. and this is ASR. So why did he not talk at all in the whole episode?

Someone please help me understand.

Rhea,

It was annoying to see Arnav not talk at all. And why would he? He is tired, hungry, exhausted. And no one is asking him even a glass of water. So he is annoyed and pissed off. 😆
But seriously, his remaining silent episode after episode was like testing our patience. The forum was full of all sorts of posts about his silence.

What I do understand the reason could be is that though now he believes and trusts Khushi, he does not know any details of all that happened. So he wouldn't know what to say. And more so his attention right now is on his Di. As Shyam's truth is being revealed, he is observing if she is able to take it or not. Also, he knows the lawyer that Shyam is and how he can manipulate the truth. He himself has fallen prey to such manipulations when Shyam reiterated his doubt that he was having an affair with Khushi. So, Arnav must have thought let Shyam finish whatever he said in his clarification. He would speak in the end.

You know that dialogue from HAHK? Aap log sauda vauda karlo. Hum to ant mein bolenge. 😆

Btw, did you read this post of mine?

something royally botched 289 through till the divine fight between asr khushi which led to aur main.

an exhausted man who is usually in suits, enters home in a banyan torn and muddy looking bedraggled... it is divulged that he was kidnapped... no one seems too bothered.

then the drama starts.

never understood that scene just before they entered and she accused shyam.

he actually asked her if she had evidence to prove before the others?

is this the man who was weeping on the clifftop?

i like a fool thought he had worked some plan out with khushi and they had agreed to this him silent thing...

for a short while... not forever.

i even remember thinking she is like arjuna here and nk is sakha while at times asr is witness... like nand kishore himself... oh all sorts of thoughts and talk.

but really... would asr be just standing still and watching while shyam accused khushi of being a girl if a certain kind who lured rich men, who fe fir him and played games to get him.

which asr would be standing like that exactly?

certainly not my asr.

and really, doesn't he need to be given some sustenance, time to shower... whatever...

the cavalier way he is treated by the whole family after he returns...
un damn real.

Rhea, this is what I wrote that time after 3/4 episodes of silence from the man. Most of it doesn't make sense now.. only looks like a laundry list..😊as those were not the cases...

But one thing I would like to say.. remember during Payash Haldi Akash says to Garima and buaji that what ever bhai says family would follow without a question!

While I can royally digress and go on ranting admiring how a 26 yr old could garner such respect just becos of his commitment, integrity and hard work for his family, the point of relevance to the current context is, that asr is t like the judge for the Raizada family. And judges will not have the liberties to be subjectively favoring some one. They HAVE to listen to both the parties. None of the Raizadas have a clue about Shyam's treachery, or so we have to accept, and he is the much loved, revered damad. And he should atleast come across to every one as been given a fair chance to explain/ defend himself.

But it aghasts me that after their mention of Shyam and proof at the door step, asr and khushi in fact didn't have any plan!

Now, the laundry list from two yrs ago..😊

Was ASR's Silence Justified?? (Thanked: 9 times)

It was somewhat out of character for ASR to be quiet and listen to all the allegations that Shyam had to throw at Khushi and not jump into action unless requested. It is so not him! There could be two reasons that justify his silence /his lack of action or rather late action!

1. ASR-Khushi had a plan: They had planned to give a chance for Shyam to defend himself, then throw him out knowing very well that he would crawl back into RM for those Will documents at which time his true face can be revealed to the family since Khushi doesn't have any proof as of now. This seems to be very much plausible for 3 reasons:

a. At the door step before they entered RM, ASR asked Khushi if she had any proofs for everyone. If their discussion didn't proceed further, it could have been cut short right there where Khushi said that it was Shyam who was behind all this. So they planned something after that (hopefully)!

b. ASR controlled his much (in) famous temper even after all the onslaughts on Khushi: Because it was necessary to give Shyam all the chance in the world to defend himself so that his ultimate eviction from Shantivan looks deserved and convincing to the family.

c. Shyam was left scot free even after divulging his criminal intent: As these two are aware that he would come back to grab those Will documents which Khushi knows for sure are with Shyam . And, at that time, he could be caught red handed, which is the final evidence to unmask him in front of the family especially for Anjali (if it was not preplanned, it would be actually very foolish to let this man go into the free world!).

2. ASR was preventing a potential feticide which was the prime reason for him to not act up on Shyam in the first place when he came across the true colors of that lecher. Although he kept quiet with his Di, let us not forget he never had the intentions of protecting her blind faith in her husband by keeping her in dark if she were not to be pregnant! He was restraining himself until and unless it became an absolute necessity for him to act. It would be so very unfortunate for an unborn child to pay the price for the criminality of his/her father! If we recall, he and Khushi were always looking at fainting Anjali concerned that they even forfeited the argument in the middle if not to be called back by Shyam. Yes, Khushi's dignity was questioned right in the middle of Shantivan and very unfortunately no one tried to do anything to stop it. But they can all beg for her forgiveness later whenever they realize the truth if they haven't already! But a lost child cannot be revived even after a million apologies and prayers!

Thank you!

Durga,

we can for ever talk about bitwa entering the ghar after a long time in that swift opening of the RM door and ignore all the fallacies of the writing..😊
Do you have to remind that HAHK "hum anth me bolenge".. I can go all gaga over Salman Khan ji in a true madam Khushi mode. :) adorable he was in Barjatya's films. KJo said HAHK is one his all time fav and watched some 30/40 times. I was watching K3G recently and realized so much of HAHK in there..

oh yes bitwa was absolutely tired, drained.. and not a single one asked even for water. RM wasis forgot basic courtesies...😊

found this on crooner 92, page 4... soon after the shyam khushi confrontation started.

good morning priya, so good to see you back. hope break wonderful.
yes, the battle that has been fought in the shadows, in a web of secrets and lies for so long is now out in the open. every character and we are in the thick of it in one fell swoop. and the truth must be found.

know your enemy, says sun tze. secrets can grow in the dark and bloom monstrous flowers with the "scent of deception," reminds your second quote.

"all war is deception."
sun tze

i missed the shot of the eye exchange between arnav and khushi before the battle commenced right royal. so i went back and checked last two episodes. and there it was in the 3rd july epi, he looks at her, she gives the slightest nod. i read it as him asking: are you ready, shall we begin? and her reply: yes, i am. there was an air of protectiveness about him. i missed the exchange again in the 4th july episode. uff.

i guess you have to fall off a cliff before coming to the point khushi has come to. i refer less to her literal fall and much more to the metaphorical one that happened when she realised that shyam intended to kill her arnavji. now. her expression at the end of the episode on first july as shyam declared his immediate intentions has her reeling off into another space. a cliff fall you reckon? that will build incredible urgency in her to take on the enemy. now.

couple of things:

* "bhram." the woman who lives in and unknowingly weaves a perfect world of illusions, tells two people who are prepared to catch reality by the horns "aapko koi bhram hua hai." of course, it is anjali to mamiji and khushi. interesting. in the mandodari context, she was the daughter of maya; the king of illusion in the deepest and most philo sense of the word.

* "sach." yesterday khushi uses this word several times. this is what she's out to establish, now that the perpetrator of only jhoot has dared to threaten the life of her pati. the white queen (and whether she started as a white pawn who went all the way to the other side and got promoted to queen or not, what matters is, queen she is right now), the white queen is arrayed to defend her king. she is going to check this black knave/king who is a master of turning "sach ko jhoot aur jhoot ko sach." sach is white. jhoot is black. the players are all set to choose sides. nk has arrived and is determined to defend phatti saree.

two people i found myself looking at:

* mamiji. whose story will she go with? sharp of instinct, what will she choose, what she saw and heard with her own eyes and ears or what she felt with her heart and gut?

* arnav singh raizada. and not just because he is a killer in that filthy baniyan (oh when will we see those perfect arms and shoulders again), but because he is not saying a word, he only watches carefully, each move, each breath. of the enemy, of his love and life, of everybody. he is in touch with khushi through his gaze, while he moves gently forward toward black queen who he knows can't do without his protection. she may surprise him and us, yet.

he has returned as asr as you said priya. yay. he is trying to know his enemy. and this time he seems to know who that is.

no doubt the enemy will play every trick he can: the telltale locket around his neck, the divorce paper, iloveyoukhushi will be turned perhaps to a yarn about the scheming khushi who used him to get to the wealth and now has turned to trap him when their plan to kill arnav has failed. oh the possibilities. no accident he is a lawyer (looks like the writer no likee lawyers 😆 )

back to asr. a quote from sun tze reminded me of him.
"What the ancients called a clever fighter is one who not only wins, but excels in winning with ease."

hope it's true, this time round as well.

this was the first time i saw these episodes as did everyone else... was full of hope of many good things as is evident from what i wrote... now, those days just fox me.

what i did enjoy as an upshot of everything though is the fight with khushi and then the whole battle to win her back... felt adult and real. but for that did we need so many days of asr watching things without a word. repeated shots of the double... and that unbelievable silence as shyam insinuated things. because in the end he said what melted my heart of course... he believed khushi. he trusted her. beautiful scene there between the two... but there was something terribly uncomfortable about the way his wife was almost violated before others and he let it happen.

i have always had this issue with the legend of ram. when someone is saying you are king and you have to be fair and especially above your personal feelings when dealing with your loved ones... in this case, wife... because the raja sets the example. so you say, fine she has to go through agni pariksha. okay, but you are not only king. you are husband too. in which case, set her the pariksha, then get up, come down from your throne, hold her hand and walk with her across that fire.

my take.

on fairness... and duty.

i could not believe asr would stand there silently while shyam almost attempted vastra haran and nk stepped in time and again as sakha... something just did not sit right.

the clifftop obviously had me writing like there's no tomorrow. please read this if in the mood. wrote it for crooner 91: raphsody of the soul.

after this beauty, those episodes starting halfway through 288 become even more difficult to understand. especially in the context of that dupatta being put with deliberate care on her shoulders by the man who loves her eternally and will not even allow the eternal to take her away.

rhapsody.

what a beautiful word, anjali.
could it be the feeling i feel right now.

will be back when i've gathered myself a bit.
thanks for starting us on our soul search.

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
hamari dhadkane ek ho jaati hain

he holds her limp, forlorn hand and lifts it ever so tenderly all the way to his heart. turning her palm, he presses it gently against his skin. he cradles her close, head pressed against hers, despair in his eyes. has he lost her? his heart beats steady, strong. he doesn't feel her fingers move as if awakened by those very beats. eyes tightly shut holding in the tears, he waits. he can't lose her. not now, not like this. "khushi!" pleading, desperate. "hmm?" is that her! his eyes fly open, as realisation dawns, endless feelings flood their quickening brown. he smiles. at last he smiles.

sometimes poetry cannot be learnt by heart, it is just felt by it.

for about 11 minutes last night, that is all it was. poetry. of love and death, of love and life; of the wind, sky, rain, and mud; of green hills and colourless breath. of my heart and hamesha.

why isn't she holding onto me as she did instictively before she even knew me, let alone loved me? he's looking for a sign of life, for if she is there, she will hold him, this he knows. and when she lifted her hand finally to latch on to the filthy banyan, oh that registering of it, his slow turning of head in wonder, the long look into her eyes, that utter relief and gratitude and that something else.

now that the hand had found life, it wanted love. she reached up to stroke his tear and mud stained cheek, he brought her palm to his lips. a kiss of joy, he breathed in. she looked in wonder, her arnavji, her adversary, her laad governor, her very first love. finally free. she had promised to bring him back, and she would. but before that, just by the wind and the leaves and the faraway temples and hamlets a few moments alone. alone with him. arms around each other, on the bare earth floor, among the silence and the stillness, flowing into each other, part of nature, two lovers endless in time.

i don't need anything else, khushi, i don't need anything.

tum jo mil gaye ho to yeh lagta hai, ke jahaan mil gaya
ek bhatke hue raahi ko carvaan mil gaya

he picks up her dupatta lying on the grass and carefully lays it upon her shoulders, a million promises in a single gesture. she looks up, only trust in those eyes. you are mine, he seems to say, i love you, i protect you, i make sure nothing puts even a mark on your dignity. she is too week to walk, close as she's drifted by death just a short while ago. he cradles her in his arms and walks with her to the jeep. his stride, her dupatta, their line of body just like from that evening of the guest house. or was it from before that, way before, from a time before memory?

poetry makes the prosaic bearable. and how i felt it last evening.
leaving you with a beautiful love song by tagore. hemanta mukherjee sings it ever so quietly for biswajit as he plays the piano thinking of his beloved wife in "kuheli" a movie from the early seventies. i saw it whan i must have been 11, the voice still plays in my head when i hear the words: tumi robe nirobe.

tumi robe nirobe hridoye maumo
nibiro nibhrito purnima nishithini-shomo

you'll reside in my heart, silent
as a deep and intimate full moon night,
you'll fill my life and youth,
and my whole universe, with splendour,
as the goddess of night.
alone will gaze your tender eyes,
the fall of your wear will keep me covered,
you'll fill my pain and suffering, my dreams fulfilled, with fragrance,
as the goddess of night.
