Yes you can call me Conservative.But still i don't like she is hiding a big news of her marriage,that she is staying with kabir.Not exactly staying but sharing husband/wife relation with Kabir.So the exactly word if live-in-relationship.

Even i am at Mausi's place i can get angry.

But rahter than this a beautiful update.I can say you can play with words beautifully.

Chapter 7:

Silence pervaded the room. Rachna had nothing more to say, but Sneha just didn't know where to begin.

"Why are you telling me all this now Rachna? Why?"

Rachna was taken aback by the question. She had not expected such a calm response from Sneha so she had no idea how to respond to her.

Sneha got up from the bed and walked towards the window. With a sense of nostalgia, Sneha stared at the night sky.

"I was the first one to hold you after you were born. You opened your eyes and smiled at me. Your smile lit up my life like the moon lights up the night sky. I loved you more than anyone else in this world Rachna. I took care of you like my own child Rachna; in fact, maybe I loved you even more than my own child. So yes I was hurt by what Gunjan did. It broke my heart to see her go against my wishes. But what you have done Rachna...I don't even know how to feel. Should I be angry, hurt, depressed, sad? How should I feel Rachna? Tell me."

Sneha looked straight into Rachna's eyes for an answer. Having no answer to Sneha's questions, Rachna looked away.

"No, no. Don't look away Rachna. Answer me. How should I feel right now? Tell me!"

With tears flowing down her cheeks and her throat closing up with sadness, Rachna's reply was barely audible. "I'm sorry Sneha mausi. Please forgive me."

Sneha wiped her own tears as she walked towards Rachna and stood in front of her.

"No Rachna. I can't forgive you. You've made a joke of every relationship in your life. You didn't care about your parents. You didn't care about me. You didn't even care about your husband! Tumne shaadi ka bhi mazaak bana diya (You made a joke of even marriage itself.) I can't forgive you. I supported you when you went to Benaras because deep in my heart I trusted you; I felt that you were right to pursue your dreams. But you betrayed my trust Rachna. I can't ever forgive you for that."

Sneha began to walk out of the room. As she reached the door, she turned towards Rachna and spoke.

"You know Rachna, it's good that Shail didi and jija ji are not around to see this day. I don't think that they would have been able to bear this trauma."

Saying that Sneha exited the room, leaving Rachna alone to cry bitterly for the rest of the night.

The next morning, Rachna came downstairs for the barsi pooja and found Sneha getting everything ready. Rachna timidly approached Sneha.

"Sneha mausi. Do you need me to help you with anything?"

Sneha ignored Rachna and continued to do her work. Feeling dejected, Rachna walked away from Sneha and sat near her sister Pihu, who had already arrived with her husband Murli. Pihu hugged Rachna tightly.

Once the pooja was over, Sneha and her husband Akash directed the guests towards the kitchen, where Rachna and Pihu distributed the prasad. Once all the guests had left, Pihu and Murli went upstairs to rest in the guest room, while Akash left for the office. Sneha was cleaning up the kitchen when Rachna came in to talk to her.

"Sneha mausi. I know that I have hurt you very much. And I also know that it will be impossible for you to forgive me. Yell at me, slap me, hit me, or give me any punishment you want, but please talk to me."

Sneha ignored Rachna and continued to do her work. Seeing this, Rachna felt sad. As she turned to exit the kitchen, she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"You have made too big of a mistake Rachna. It cannot be forgiven. But I love you too much to push you away from me. I have already lost my sister and my daughter. I can't afford to lose you too."

Sneha hugged Rachna and they both cried. Parting from the hug and wiping away Rachna's tears, Sneha told Rachna to go upstairs to her room.

"You go to your room now. I will come in some time. We have a lot to discuss."

Sneha came to Rachna's room and locked the door behind her. She sat down next to Rachna on the bed.

"When was the last time you talked to Kabir?"

Rachna was a bit surprised by the question. "Uhh, Kabir? I...I talked to him yesterday."

Now it was Sneha's turn to be surprised. "So you have been in touch with Kabir for the past year?"

"No. I haven't. Do you remember when I went to Benaras a few weeks after mummy and papa's death? Well, that was the last time I spoke to Kabir. I broke off with him and told him to forget me. Then I came back to Mumbai and never had contact with him again."

"But you just said you spoke to him yesterday?"

"Well I saw him in Delhi. Me and Chaya were shopping and I bumped into Kabir there. And then he sat next to me on the flight from Delhi to Mumbai. But we didn't really talk too much...he..." Rachna trailed off, not being able to finish her thoughts.

Sneha sighed loudly. "So what do you want to do? I mean, about you and Kabir?"

Rachna thought for a few minutes. "I don't know. And I don't think it matters what I want. I think I've messed up too much."

Before Sneha could respond, the doorbell rang.

Sneha returned to Rachna's room after receiving the courier that had just been delivered. The package was addressed to Rachna Garg.

Confused, Rachna opened the envelope to find an official letter. It was a letter from court, stating that the divorce between Kabir Tripathi and Rachna Garg Tripathi had been finalized.

Rachna was shocked to read the letter. She couldn't understand what was going on.

"What's wrong Rachna? What is it?"

Rachna limply sat on the chair and handed the letter to Sneha. After reading the letter, Sneha looked at Rachna for an explanation.

"I don't know what this is. I never sent any divorce papers to Kabir and I never received anything from him either. I just don't understand what is happening Sneha mausi."

Meanwhile, Kabir was sitting in his hotel room on the other side of Mumbai, equally shocked to be reading the news of his divorce from an email that his lawyer had just sent him.

Calling his lawyer immediately, Kabir demanded an explanation. "Pathak! What the hell is this email about? What divorce? I never filed for a divorce!"

The response that Kabir heard from the other side made his blood boil.

"It was your mother Kabir. She initiated these proceedings."

Hanging up the phone, Kabir immediately left to meet that woman.

Barging into the house, the very house he had grown up in, Kabir screamed.

"Gayatri! Gayatri! Gayatri!"

Gayatri Tripathi, Kabir's mother, walked out of her room with a coy smile on her face.

"Oh please my dear son, at least don't forget that you're standing in my house. Do lower your voice and talk to me with some respect."

Furious, Kabir yelled again. "Son?! What son? Whose son?"

Gayatri smiled again as she took a seat in one of the chairs in the opulently decorated living room.

"Just because you don't accept me as your mother does not mean that you are not my son."

Kabir tried to calm himself down. "Well in any case it doesn't matter. That's not the issue I'm here to discuss."

"Oh I know very well what issue you are here to discuss with me. But instead of yelling at each other, let's just sit down and talk like the civilized people that we are."

Kabir snorted sarcastically, but he knew better than to diagree with Gayatri Tripathi. Arguing with her would get him nowhere; in fact, she may just call security and have him kicked out of the house. So Kabir sat down and tried to control his anger.

"What is this nonsense?" Kabir asked through clenched teeth, while showing Gayatri the email he had received on his phone.

"If I understand correctly, it's the confirmation of your divorce."

"I can very well read. But why the hell am I receiving this message when neither I, nor my wife, initiated divorce proceedings."

"Ex-wife my dear son. She's now your ex-wife. And neither of you may have initiated the divorce, but she certainly agreed to it. In fact, I can show you the divorce papers that she signed."

Kabir was getting angry again. "Even if she signed the damn papers, I didn't sign them! So how can the court grant the divorce?!"

"Oh, but you did sign them darling. Remember those property papers that Pathak had asked you to sign a few months back, well the divorce papers were hidden in that pile of documents." Gayatri smiled elegantly, an evil glint in her eyes.

When Kabir responded with a disgusted look, Gayatri laughed.

"You haven't changed at all my dear son...still the same innocent child that you were in your childhood."

Kabir couldn't control himself any longer. He stormed out of the house and drove away. Driving aimlessly, Kabir soon found himself standing in front of the ocean.
