If I recall correctly when Rajkumar first appeared back in 2012 he was planning a bomb blast in Pushkar but somehow Chaturi figured out something was shady about him or she saw something that made him realize that she could expose him - so to protect himself he abducted Chaturi and held her hostage - he might have attempted to kill her.
