Aaliya's POV
"Mrs. Abdullah, his condition is very critical. There are minor chances of his memory. He is suffering from a memory loss, Mrs. Abdullah" My heart beat stopped. It was a chance that he won't remember anything. ANYTHING.
"How long- I mean uh.."
"Well, he has lost his memory from last year. The only thing he remembers is that your and his nikaah. He thinks he has a sister too, named Barkat. And you two have found out that she isn't his sister anymore. This is a rare case Mrs. Abdullah. Its almost like he has gone back 1 year. And I am so sorry to interfere in your personal matters, but I did got to know you two had a divorce. Mrs. Abdullah, please its a humble request, don't make Zain remember anything at all about your divorce. He couldn't take it."
"Is he okay now?"
"Yeah he is. He was asking for you the minute he woke up. But Mrs. Abdullah there is something I need to tell, uhh.. ask!"
"What is it?"
"Mrs. Abdullah, its that when we were on the operation it was like he didn't want to respond. This happens rarely though, but it was like he was regretting something. Something he has spoken or something he had done. It was like he didn't want to live anymore. He was in guilt. So just make him feel better Mrs. Abdullah, make him feel out of all his guilt."
"Can I meet him?"
"Yeah I-"
"Doctor!" A nurse came running out of Zain's Room.
"Yes, what is it?"
"Doctor the patient isn't having his medicines. All he is saying is that he is waiting for Aaliya. Aaliya. He wants Aaliya I-"
"I am Aaliya!" I said interrupting.
"Oh good lord, you should come with me Aaliya. He really needs you!"
"Yeah sure!" I went with the nurse inside the room.
Zain's Ward
My heart skipped a beat or two. There he was laying on the bed lifeless. Looking at me with a wry smile on his face. It was like he was smiling. He ate the medicines and soon we two were left alone.
"Aaliya I-"
"Shhh... You should rest Zain. You should rest, I'll call Maami"
"I want to meet Dad!"
