Sonam to play an aspiring politician

The actress has bought the rights of Anuja Chauhan's book, Battle For Bittora

Sonam Kapoor is all set to push the bar with her next project. The actress recently bought the rights of Anuja Chauhan's book, Battle For Bittora, which is a love story between two aspiring politicians from opposing parties. Needless to say, she's thrilled about it. Says she, "I can't wait to start working on it. It has an interesting premise."

ARK,Sid and Imran Khan were rumoured to be zeroed-in as the choices for the male lead.ARK would be a good choice.

Fun fact: she was rumored to do the movie a few years ago for some PH, but it kept getting delayed. So she decided to buy the rights & make it a home production. Cool no?😊

I think ARK might be the winner, if Abhay Deol isnt into it for some artsy reason. Should be announced next tho, as the shooting was supposed to start in November.

You do realize that movies these days are not just produced by a producer. Khoobsurat has UTV & Disney investments. Bittora has been bought by Anil K's production house, they will produce it but I am sure they will get other studios on board. So it's not just papa's money at stake here.

She is also doing a movie on painter Amrita Shergill. Don't know anything else.
