Part 21
"Rishu.." she said in a husky fearful voice.
But there was no answer. She tried to separate to see him but RK's weight was on her. She looked dreadfully at Sultan.
"Rishu!!" she screamed looking at Sultan. She couldn't get anything out of her mouth now.
Sultan came running to them. "What happened?" He asked afraid as he pulled RK away from Madhu. He tried patting RK's face to wake him up while Madhu shook him holding his arm but he didn't.
"Rishu wake up!!" She screamed. Just then Sultan noticed Madhu's dress having deep blood stains. He looked at her baffled and shocked. "Why is there blood on you?" He asked.
Madhu looked down at her dress and then at RK in shock. That's when Sultan noticed blood flowing out of RK's left side of abdomen. He touched that and his fingers came out blood pooled. He was stunned. "How did this happen!!" He said to himself.
"Call the ambulance!" He shouted as he noticed Kapoor standing at a distance in a shock and fear. Madhu sat there shocked too.
Sultan stood up as he tried holding up RK to take him down meanwhile Kapoor called the ambulance as he already was afraid of Sultan.
Madhu helped Sultan in holding him around his shoulder as they walked off with RK with his dragging feet.

They were now rushing with RK on the stretcher almost lifeless and unconscious and taken inside.
Madhu and Sultan stood outside the emergency ward as they apprehensively waited for doctor to tell what exactly happened.
Sultan sat on the side bench as he thought to himself. How could this happen? RK was fine till the end. He had fought, he had jumped up and down, nothing had hurt him. He had killed Bhatia. He was fine when he sat there and cried. He was even crying! Then what happened suddenly. He was just hugging Madhu and when she came off he was shot... Suddenly he was shook to the core. He stared blankly at the floor as he tried to comprehend everything.
Just then the doctor came out of the emergency. "Excuse me.." he interrupted.
"Yes Doctor.. How is he? What happened?" Madhu came running while Sultan stood up.
"What happened that you must be knowing better.. but there is bullet that has penetrated his spleen which has ruptured. The prognosis would depend on the extent of injury which we are still assessing. All that I can say is don't expect much for now. We will try our best.." he said.
"Don't say that.. You have to save him.." Sultan said demandingly.
"We will save him.. That's what we are here for.. It can be either ways.. He might start recovering soon or we might not even get a chance to treat him.. We will do our best.." he said as he patted his shoulder and went back in.
Sultan and Madhu stood there shocked. "Please Rishu come back.." Madhu said in a low crying whisper.
"You killed him..." said Sultan from the side in a dummy like voice. Madhu turned to him stunned not able to believe what she heard.
"What!" She said in disbelief.
"You shot him... Right Madhu?" He said angrily.
"What are you saying?" She said baffled.
"He was fine.. Everything was done.. And then you hugged him and after that he was found shot.." Sultan almost shouted.
"No!!! Why would I shoot him?" She was taken aback.
"Really?? Why would you shoot him? Should you ask that? You are the one who had been vouching for your hatred towards him.. You hated him.. You destroyed him once.. And you had already said to RK that after he kills Bhatia you would kill him.. RK has been my only family Madhu. We have been together since childhood.. And let me tell you I wont let anything happen to him.." he controlled his voice from raising in the hospital somehow.
Madhu looked at him dumbstruck. "But.." she said with tears brimming in her eyes.
"Just go away Madhu!! You did what you wanted.. You wanted him to die.. You hated him like hell.. He loved you.. Did everything for you.. Even listened to your scorns.. He even encouraged you to kill him so that you get satisfaction! But did once your heart melt? You played with his feelings still he loved you like crazy but you didn't realize his worth...Didn't you realize that deep love he had for you?" He asked in a hurting tone while Madhu looked at him dumbstruck as she shook her head to refuse that she killed him. She wanted to say but was choked by the tears..
" What kind of vengeance you wanted? You call him a beast?! And what are you? I don't think a human could ignore that much of love and compassion he has for and even your family.. Go away from here right now Madhu.. Or else I will kill you.." he said in an angry pressured tone as he stood face to face with her.
"Kill me then... If you think I shot him.. Kill me.." she cried.
"RK had said to me.. That you are him.. his life depends on you.. Otherwise I swear I don't leave my friends' enemies, let alone who harm them."
"Please Sullu just listen to me... I love him alot.. Though I agree I betrayed him but that was for my father.. I..." she tried to reason.
"Father? Shamsher Malik! How can I forget? Yes you are his daughter! Then it was surely expected of you... Backstabbing the ones who trust you is in your blood.." he said with disgust.
Madhu was shook to the core. "What?" She said as her heart felt skipping a thousand beats.
"You did all this to RK because of Shamsher Malik? Do you even know who he was? What he did? RK killed him and he should have killed him. That was what he deserved." Sultan shouted.
"Sultan!" Madhu screamed angrily as she couldn't let him insult her father.
"Malik was the one who killed RK's parents.." he said paying the least heed to her anger.
Madhu felt a blow. "What are you saying? Bhatia did that.." she said trying to refuse what she heard.
"No Madhubala.. Bhatia just ordered that.. But it was executed by Malik. And not just executed.. Malik betrayed Mohan Kundra.. He was his friend and associate in business. And Mohan had trusted him in everything. Mohan Kundra and Bhatia were business rivals and he had even exposed Bhatia's illegal projects.. But then Bhatia bought a man.. You know who? It was Shamsher Malik.. Yes it was your father... he sold himself to Bhatia and then not only did he betray RK's father but he even ruthlessly killed his parents. Gunshots one after the other.. Do you realize what that child must have felt seeing his parents in that state. Still.. Still he had not told you for once why he killed your father. You kept on accusing him and hurting him but not for once he told you the truth.. You know why?"
Madhu looked at him still in shock.
"Because that stupid man thought that you would break down hearing about your father. He was ready to become the villain and take up all your hate for his whole life only so you don't feel shattered and betrayed by your father.. That is how much of a beast he is.. but why am I telling you all this.. You have now done what you wanted.. he is fighting there for life..." Sultan said controlling his tears as his voice shook with emotions.
"but get this one thing clear in you head.." he patted his finger on her temple in anger which made Madhu suddenly look at him wih wide eyes. "RK said to me that you are him.. And if he dies.. Then you would too.." he said determined and walked off..
Madhu stood there like a statue. Sultan's words had hit her like blows one after another. All her illusions were shattered. Her father? He was the reason behind all what RK had to face? And RK was never wrong? The man she had hated all her life was righteous and the one she loved like mad was the culprit. Her whole world had tossed upside down. Again she was trapped between the two. And she felt like a criminal herself thinking of her father. Not only she was the daughter of such a man but also she had fought and wronged RK for him.. She remembered how he had cried to her remembering his parent's death. Not even then he had told her who killed them because he wanted to protect her. But she had always scorned him. Madhu looked towards the door of the ward as she realized RK was fighting from death. She wanted to stay but she felt as if she had no right to be there anymore. She was even ready to kill him for that man who unfortunately was her father. She walked off still like dummy as she tried to gather something from the events. She wanted to decide something but the storm in her mind was unsettling her. She wanted peace to let her mind work at least.

Sultan was now in the doctor's cabin.
"What would happen now?" He asked apprehensively.
"Dont worry.. Fortunately the bullet hadn't penetrated the tissue proper of the spleen. It was in an accessory part which we have removed. So we have resuscitated him and he is stable now. As he had lost quite a good amount of blood we would keep him here for monitoring and replenishing his blood. If he remains stable he might be discharged in a day or two." The doctor told him smiling relieved himself.
Sultan heaved a sigh of relief. "Thank you.." he muttered as he came out of the cabin to tell Madhu about it but he found her absent. He looked around but she was not there. It had already gotten dark and Sultan inferred that she might have gone home. Moreover now he was least interested about her safety. She had tried to kill RK and he won't let her harm him again.

The morning arrived and RK was now conscious. Sultan went to him hurriedly.
"Thank God you are fine.." he said relieved seeing him fidgeting to get up.
RK smiled at him, "You are a girl.." he teased Sultan.
Sultan chuckled happily as he felt his friend was back to the way he was. "At last... everything is done RK.. You succeeded.." he said to him.
"Yes... Finally I have that peace of mind... but you know something is feeling empty now.." he said thoughtfully thinking that the only mission of his life has been done.
"Yes a part of your spleen has been removed.. so that is empty.." Sultan joked.
"Not funny..." RK looked at him disgusted. "By the way.. What happened to Kapoor and all? And Bhatia's body?" He asked suddenly anxious.
"Don't worry everything is done.. I had sent my men.. And everything is clear.. Kapoor has been dealt well he wont open his mouth ever.. And even if he tries, Thanks to you, I have all the means to destroy him now.. so he wont do that stupidity" Sultan said boastfully..
"Great... where is Madhu?" RK asked getting relaxed now. He was very sure that Madhu would come barging in anytime.
"She is at home.. she had shot you.. wasnt that enough that you still thinking of her." he said .
"She had shot me?! Who said that to you..?" RK asked confused
"RK.. You were fine all the time.. only after you hugged her you had that bullet shot in you" Sultan argued.
"No.. Madhu hadn't shot me.. It was Bhatia.. He had shot while I was fighting his body guard I felt something but I wasnt very much attentive to all of it that time" RK baffled as he thought how Sultan thought it the wrong way. Hearing him Sultan was shook, he remembered the gunshot when he was talking to Madhu. How could he forget that? he cursed himself for what all he said to Madhu.
Just then RK's phone rang. He picked up the phone casually.
"Hello.."... "Mrs Malik..?" He exclaimed confused. "What?! Madhu isn't back home? All night?!!" he almost shouted on the phone... "Dont worry I will get her back to you soon.. Yes I remember my promise... Nothing would happen to her." He said as he disconnected the call.
Sultan looked at him with widened eyes as he heard that Madhu wasn't home all night.
"Where is Madhu Sultan?" RK asked angrily.
"I dont know.. She just disappeared yesterday.." he said confused and shocked.
"What had happened? She isn't the one to go away leaving me like this.. Speak up damn it.. She hasn't been home all night!" RK shouted.
"After you were brought here.. I thought that she has shot you.. then..." Sultan tried thinking himself.
"Then what?" RK asked restlessly.
"I told her.." he looked at RK shocked realizing what mistake he had done.
"You told her what?"
"About Malik..." he said.
"Shit!! I told you Sultan she should not come to know about it.. She wont be able to take it.. See what you have done.." RK said angrily as he tried to get up.
"What are you doing.. you stay here.. I will search for her.." Sultan said getting up.
"You expect me to lie here while Madhu might be in some danger.. Are you mad?" He screamed.
"But you have just recovered.." Sultan argued.
"I told you Sultan she is me.. even then you told her.. And She had to shoot me.. What wrong was even there that she had killed me.." RK said ignoring Sultan's concerns as he was now walking out of his ward.
"I am sorry RK.. I was just taken away by emotions.." he said regretting
"Thats your whole problem Sultan.. Why the hell you get so emotional" RK shouted as they walked out of the hospital.
