The 1st look appears cheeky, vulgar, ugly colored, extreme photoshopped. Ranveer was involved in the preparation. To a non-fan or fan of his intense movies, this might puzzle you why he would roll out this kind of poster as we all know he is a creative guy with a mind of a thinker. Here's my view-
KillDill is not a big movie. Ranveer's stardom has increased leaps and bounds from the time he started shooting this movie (november 2013). He's not going to sign such movies anymore if he gets bigger n bigger.
To make a splash as a big movie release worthy of his current standing, it is necessary to do everything at extremes and they have exactly done that. Whether the reaction on the forum was bad or good BUT it definitely got everyone's attention :) also the colours make it stand out. It will be the exact same for public.
After all for boxoffice success, it's not a problem when something triggers extreme dislike (e.g. humshakals) or like (chennai express) in bollywood; problem is when it doesn't trigger any emotion and doesn't make noise (lootera).
If you are Ranveer fan and you are worried, worry not! The 1st look will trigger exactly what it was aimed for. Ranveer knows exactly what he is doing. He just doesn't want KillDill to go Daawat-e-ishq way-- no noise, nothing. The 1st look has strengthened my belief that it will be a hit.
PS: just noted that ''kill dil first look'' title was enough to generate 2000+ views on that thread. No actor or actress name mentioned on the title of the thread
