Sehar is not Zoya.....

Sorry for pointing out the obvious, and double sorry for giving words to a bitter truth that most Asya and especially Zoya fans want to forget.
But I just needed to point this out. In the last few weeks since Sehar's entry, the forum has been alive and buzzing with posts regarding the similarities between Sehar and Zoya and how she seems to have inherited her mother's spunk and spirit. Not only that, plenty have found the shades of Asya in Sehaan...and so the excitement over the new, too hyped and too talked about couple in the making.
I have nothing against them or Zoya. Never saw QH1...the negativity and bitchen politics were too much for the likes of me, but QH2 gradually found an accidental and now avid viewer (having burnt my hands on a recent show)
Zoya...don't need to say much as she has a million fans all over the world...and rightly so. It's natural for her fans to try and look for her shades in her daughter, after the tragic and unacceptable end she met. But glorifying Seher just cause she reflects certain obvious and in your face traits of Zoya, and forgetting that QH2 rode its way to a glorious comeback on the shoulders of the quieter twin, seems unfair.
For those who believe that Sehar is her mother's daughter...so is Sanam. Sanam is a pure Asya mix. She reportedly has her dad's quieter, responsible and mature side, and his infamous temper too. She has inherited his calmness...and yet she also exhibits her mother's strong sense of digging for the truth. She is and always has been the practical once. Sanam has a lot of Zoya in her, which seems to have been forgotten. She is smart, and resolute. Once on a trail, she does not give up till she reaches the truth. Her curiosity like her mother is always on high alert. She has the smarts, not only from Asad, but from Zoe too. Her love for her family, and her thirst for true love, has shades of Zoya's yearning for her father and Asad too. And she might be the quieter one, but her spunk and spirit can never be questioned. She is as much a society defier as her mother. Both having disastrous first attempts at marriage, and refusing to give in to the unfair societal pressures of a marriage to an unworthy partner. Sanam might not be the gadget user here, but she surely possesses the never say die gumption of her mother...remember how she refused to give an inch to the mighty Ahil Raza Ibrahim. Just like Zoya, she got up, picked up the pieces, brushed the dust off, and moved on to face and win bigger challenges.
Agreed that Seher is a pizza lover, and has the sense of humor too, she seems more free spirited like Zoe, but if we cannot see loads of Zoya in Sanam too...we are being very superficial here. Seher is a person on her own, with shades that are yet to be explored. Yes, she is loads of fun and laughter, but she also has her demons to slay, a past that is I can bet very ugly, her wounds to heal, her tears to dry, her hopes and dreams and aspirations, her story to tell...Waitng for the day when Seher comes out of her shell...and gives us one more unforgettable character
And the way people see Seher as an extension of zoya..or zoe part 2 is also unfair to a budding character. Surbhi is pouring her soul in her work, trying to bring to life not one, not two but three different female protagonists, and if we don't allow Sehar to come out of her mother's shadow and treat her as a separate identity...we are being grossly unfair. Sehar is not Zoya come back to life...on the contrary she needs to be a separate entity, with her own traits and characteristics. I for one do not want to see Zoya version 2 fall in love with a forced Asad version 1.5... Been there done that..can we press the refresh button now and move on. Not to mention, the comparisions between Asya and Sehaan...really??? Asad and Rehaan?? How, where, ...what...when???
Also the hype around them is complicating matters further, the missing Sahil scenes...the couple that actually brought to life a dead show, and the way cvs are trying to divert our attention to Sehaan instead...reeks of partiality somewhere. (whatever the reasons...)
Is it just me or don't Sehar and Rehaan looked forced sometimes...the mind blowing chemistry between Ahil and Sanam is so not found in the other two. Rehaan seems like a bachcha in front of sehar and surbhi...not only in looks but in talent and acting prowess too...He does not even look comfortable sometimes, forget a passionate love story...and no its not childs play to make a hit pair...if such were the case every lead pair in every show would rewrite history..there needs to something indefinable between two actors to give us an unforgettable pair onscreen( no offense to anyone...just my pov..and if I do offend...I apologize in advance...sorry indeed). Ahil and Sanam just need to be in one frame..and the rest is history...now that's pure chemistry...Sehaan...well its early days...And the whole concept of a man loving a woman first, failing and then falling for her twin sister..makes me very uncomfortable. How convenient for him..and how wrong!! May be the cvs can justify it later but one cant deny that he sees her married sister in her...And yes he needs to come clean. You are either on the right side or the wrong side...you can't sit on the fence and keep quiet on matters of life and death. The way he loves and respects Ahil yet hides such crucial facts from him ...don't cast him in a good light. The cvs better give this character some definite shape now...hopefully positive!!
Sorry for the rant, but it seems unfair that Seher and any of her antics, are welcomed with so much of gusto and passion just cause she on the surface is more entertaining like Zoya, while Sanam the quieter one, who is also her reflection, seems to have been conveniently left waiting in the shadows. Sehar is not Zoya...no..you want her back, you wish your darling Zoya back...but no Sehar is not the answer...or to be very specific not the only answer.

WORD. To EVERYTHING you said. I have always maintained that Seher is nothing like Zoya. Yes her mannerisms and habits may be the same but as a character she is so different! People here like to glorify Seher on the superficial basis that she is like Zoya. Maybe yes on the surface. But we need to delve further into her character to arrive at that conclusion and so far we haven't got a proper introduction into her character to reach that conclusion.

Sanam and Seher are a reflection of their parents. Sanam being the more quiet and dignified one doesn't make her any more or less similar to Zoya.

Frankly people need to move past the concept of bubbly and OTT girl. It's a bit overdone now. Though there is no accounting for personal choice, but generally speaking audience still prefer that sorta character over strong and dignified Sanam. I personally think Sanam is a welcome change from the same old and I also like how Seher brings some comic relief though some of her antics and hysterics make me cringe like how she always thanks Bappa for being able to loot someone, especially street vendors and that dhaba owner. Made me quite annoyed.

All her antics are def glorified on the forum though including these cringeworthy ones and that's what really irks me.

Just saw how someone here said how we are jealous of SeHaan. Made me ROFL. How typical and can I just say I was missing such inane posts. LOL. Jealous of fictional characters? Give me a break! Seriously.

Also saw Sanam being called a doormat! Please elaborate on this part and explain to me how exactly Sanam is a doormat! In fact, she is anything BUT a doormat. Puhleez! Don't lose all your objectivity over some fictional couple...I have never seen any doormats giving right back ALL the time and also physically manhandling the "manhandler" according to you.

Why being so judgmental for Aahil's past? That's what he was like BEFORE he met Sanam, now he is anything but. Oh why am I even bothering explaining to someone with no objectivity at all...

About AsYa being compared to SeHaan. Bang on! Thank you so much for bringing this point out. Especially how Asad is being compared to spineless Rehaan! Like seriously? Asad would be turning in his grave...

I don't like SeHaan for the same exact reasons as you. The twins concept. Very icky and disturbing. At least for me. Not because Rehaan is Billi's kitten because kids shouldn't be punished for their parents misdeeds according to me...

Totally agree about the lack of chemistry too. I also think they look like siblings and have zilch chemistry. Said this even before SeHaan were paired and ever since Rehaan fell for Sanam.

AsYa were epic in their own way and comparison to SeHaan is insulting AsYa.

Thank you for this post, Eve.

I never felt that seher is zoya...just look at her mannerisms and way of talking...none will say that she was the same person who played zoya...that much different it is...comparison is a common thing that everyone does but even if anyone compares, they hardly gets any...seher and zoya are completely diferent in living terms terms too...seher's character has much more depth than zoya...
We can completely differentiate zoya, sanam and seher even with same faces...hats off to sj for potraying three characters soo differently
Coming to sahil and sehaan...i had to watch four of them together in one frame...then only i willl be able to judge..

I enjoy them too...but yet as characters...not as a couple...may be the coming days will change my mind. I would love to see the cvs develop another interesting love story...but I think Rehaan needs to improve a bit too...
