Aathi and Dubey waited in the corridor till doctors come. Dubey was so silent. Aarthi could not stop her tears...
Just then the doctor came out.
Mr. Dubey and Aarthi rushed to him.
"How is she doctor?"
Asked Dueby worried.
Please take care of Mrs. Dubey. This is her second attack. I told you earlier that because of her age we cannot do a surgery as it would be very risky. Keep her happy if you want her to live long.." doctor said to both Aarthi and her father.
Dubey just nodded his head. Doctor went leaving them both behind. Aarthi looked at her father questionably he just smiled and went off.
"This is because of me. Even in this situation my papa does not blame me. Ok ma, more than my life I want your life. Just to keep you happy I will agree for this marriage. I know you won't ask it but I will do though it will kill me from inside." Thinking this Aarthi started to cry. She cried a lot thinking about her helpless situation...
" I never knew God, that you would put me in a helpless situation like this. You know I hate marriage but to save my beloved mom I have to say yes... How can wi I love someone whom I don't know..???? How can I give my future to someone I don't know. Is there a guarantee that he will not turn in to another Prashanth? No...But ma, yours and papa's lives are so important to me than my grief. I will face this test of my life too. I know nobody will understand the pain or the situation I'm in now. Oh ! I feel so much alone..."
Thought Aarthi.
Just then a nurse came to them.
"You can go and see the patient... but don't disturb her."
Dubey and Aarthi nodded.
Dubey started to leave to the room Aarthi called.
"Papa, I'm sorry."
"I know this happened to mama because of me. I will agree for the marriage."
"Beta, you have not done anything wrong. You have right to say No. Your mama is also not wrong. She is worried about you and your future. Beta just don't marry because of your mama. You will regret."
"Papa if I lose mama, I will regret whole of my life. I will suffer thinking about her."
" I will make her understand beta."
"No papa, I heard what doctor said. Why did you hide it from me."
"We never wanted you to be sad. We hate to see your tears. That's why."
"Papa, if this makes ma happy I'm ready to do it."

"Are you sure beta?"

Aarthi just smiled.
"I hope so papa. I hope that he will fulfil your wish rather than destroy them. You don't know boys these days papa. You don't know one boy broke your daughter's heart for pieces that I can't still combine them."
"What are you thinking beta?"

"ok, let's go to your mother."
"Hmm..."
Late that night
"Who is calling at this time?" Thought Yash taking his ringing phone.
"Am I dreaming? It's Aarthi? Did she change her decision? Wait I need to pinch myself to see that I'm not dreaming."
"OUCH!! So she's calling.. yay..."
"Hello Aarthi.."
"Hello Yash..I need to talk to you. Can I meet you tomorrow?"
"Yes of course. Why not? Let's meet at the park where we last met."
"You mean near our house."

Next morning..
"Aarthi , you are here before me. Why did you want to meet me? Did you change your decision?"

" I said no to your marriage proposal. She couldn't bear it and she got her second heart attack and now she's in the hospital."

"Yes, we have to keep her happy."
"Aarthi, you should not take decision because of the situation. Marriage means..."
"Please Yash no lectures.. Will you marry me or not?"
" I will marry you and you only but that will happen the day you love me."
" You only put me in this situation, If you hadn't taken the proposal to my parents things would have been different. Ok, thank you. I will save my mother's life somehow."
"Aarthi, try to understand. I will talk to your mother."
" No, she can't take it anymore. Enough Yash. I knew you would do this. You said you will stand by me and you did what Pra..." She stopped in mod way thiking Yash does not know her past.
"Aarthi, true I will stand by you. If this marriage helps to save your mother's life we'll get marry..But will you be happy? Your sadness will be visible in your face and your mother will find it out."
"I know how to manage it. You don't have to worry."
"Aarthi, I know you can't love me. Can't we be friends at least? Good friends? I mean if we get marry we should be friends at least na?"
"Can I trust you?"
"Why can't you Aarthi?Give a chance to our friendship and see whether I'm good at it. Till the day you accept me as your husband, I'll be a good friend of yours. I promise. Shall we be friends?"
"Ok. Friends then.."
Can you say it with a smile?"
"Ok friends..."Aarthi said with a smile.
"Ok Dost let's get ready for the marriage then.."
Aarthi just smiled.
"So we are marrying."
Asked Aathi.
"Yes, As you wish Aarthi."
"Ok, I'm going to see your mom, shall we go together? That will make her happy."
"hmm.. good idea.. Ok.. let's go.."
So they both went to the hospital to see Shobha ma ...
She was more than surprised to see them together.
"Aarthi and Yash.. you both together..."
Asked shobha
"Yes ma, I was wrong.. Yash is a good person.. You are right and I'm happy with your decision.."
"That means you are ready to marry?"
"Yes ma, as you wish."
"Did you take this decision because of me beta?"
"No ma, he talked with me then I got to know he's a good person."
"I'm so happy beta...May both you live happily always. Yash beta.. please keep my Aarthi happy. She's the only treasure I have."
"Don't worry ma. I will do it. I will keep your daughter happy and will not let a tear touch your daughter's eyes. I promise it ma."
"So we have lot of work to do now. So many things to do."
"Ma, first you get well soon. I and your daughter will take care of those. Ok I need to go now for shooting.. Are you going to stay here Aarthi or I can drop you wherever you want."
"I'm going home.. I need to prepare her lunch."
"Ok I'll drop you. Let's go"
They left the room and Dubey followed them out.
He came to Aarthi and hugged her.
"Thank you beta. I don't know whether letting you sacrifice like this is right? But I'm proud to be your father."
Then he remembered Yash. He broke the hug and asked.
"Does he know?"
Yash came forward and said.
"I know bauji. I know everything. Don't worry my love for her is not changed. I still love her and wait for the day she loves me and trust me. I will pass this test."
"Thank you beta. I don't have a son and you fulfilled that place in my heart."
Dubey hugged both Yash and Aarthi.
