When she saw Dev for the first time after his return from US, she had prayed to Goddess to give him pain. She wanted him to be alone. She wanted his family to isolate him. She wanted him fall in his own eyes. She started to get cozy with him and flirted with him only with the above intention. She wanted Dev to propose her, Shaurya to oppose the same and the brother's to fight over it.

Well her flirting didn't give the desired result. Dev was uncomfortable around her. Then the attack on him, her MU cleared and she went close to him. He opened up to her about his feelings for Nithya. A new bond was formed between them when she took him to meet Payal and gave him Nithya's diary.
Then she took a U-Turn. Made him a stranger again. Dev by now had gone more closer to her than he himself thought. His feelings about her were no longer platonic which strangely he was unable to explain and it defied every logic.
Her actions were mysterious and whatever he had known about her , her actions contradicted those. Every interaction with her ended in confrontation. That pained him. Every time she told she loved Shaurya it started piercing his heart.
She was giving him pain, more pain by her actions. In addition to that Sakshi blasted him for hiding info on Payal, his mother wants to take him back to US after Shaurya-Durga marriage. He does not have a single person to talk his feelings to. He is literally alone in that house trying to find where Nithya is.
Ideally Durga should have jumped in joy seeing Dev like this. Her prayers are being answered. Her victim is living in misery the way she wanted and the day he knows she is Nithya obviously he will fall in front of his own eyes. So what more does Durga want for Dev. Her punishment to him for abandoning her is being given quite well.
The way she had wanted him to be by her side, he is pining to get Nithya by his side. And as truth eludes him he lives in more misery and if he cant get the truth before her marriage most probably he will live his life in eternal misery.
But the irony of the matter is that Durga is not happy seeing him like this. She had asked for his pain, but when it is answered she is equally troubled. The confrontations not only leave him in pain, it also leaves her in equal pain. Both are troubled, both are pained. If she wants she can end his pain. But now even if she wants it she cannot do it because she has gone far ahead in her mission and anything out of ordinary will be equivalent to compromising her identity and security.

Let Dev go through pain.
Only when he suffers he will realise a fraction of what Nitya went through.

His inaction, his inability to stand up to others are a weakness for which he needs to pay.

His mother was insulted and bullied in front of him yet he never took a stand. He needs a jolt to face reality.

There is a lot in front of him yet he misses it.

His fault. He is not going to get things handed to him like prasad.

Very well written. But its not just Durga's initial prayer to the Goddess, it is also Dev's doing. It took two years for him to come back to seek the truth in Payal's case. He may have had visa problem. But what about his friend in India. He could have called him and asked to find about Nithya's whereabouts esp when Nithya had not called him for the last two years.
Obviously he never suspected Goenkas as criminals . He never suspects them till now. So there wont be any danger in asking his friend Gautam to know Nithya's whereabouts till he came back to India solving his whatever Visa Problems

Even now after getting so many hints he only confuses himself more instead of focusing on one direction.

But Dev had been a good person at heart. If Durga's prayers for his pain could work, why Sakshi, Shaurya and Rajnath still get their way. When will they start paying for their deeds?

very nice analysis. dev is really a pitiable character and a victim of circumstances ,abandoned by his beloved Nithya After knowing that he is Showmik .his actions are constantly watched by his choti maa .The actor is doing a very good job ,and his superb acting makes me wish that Durga should marry only Dev and not shourya.

TBH, I don't find even Dev suitable for Nitya...I can still give him some benefit of doubt by forgetting about those two years...but what about present...he feels pain for Payal, which is just sympathy nothing else...otherwise for once he had tried out to find what actually happened by having a clear suspicion on his family...he has just doubts. why he is doubting...when there were only two parties,..if one is culprit then other is automatically victim..isn't???

CV's are trying to show DEV as the victim of circumstances...but there are no evidences in support...so for me difficult to buy Dev-Durga romance story...I hate Durga when she make helpless face in front of him...life is more than romance/love...and for Durga it is definitely, therefore she should have only one aim...

See if Durga had gone to him and confessed she is Nithya after his attack he wouldn't have had to face any major pain.
But the fact she didn't do it and behaves strangely with him is creating the problems. Dev wouldn't have suffered a bit if Durga had not known Shaurya attacked him to win the bet.
Her leaving him going close to him has created the major problem.
As Anu said to me he deserves what he is getting. I never wanted Durga to confess the truth. I wanted him to walk Nithya's path where no door opened to the poor girl.
Only when he walks that path and reaches her he will be in a position to support what she is doing. Because only then he will value her and will not want to let go of her once again.
Else he will have 100 reasons to tell why she should not be doing what she is doing. Only when he understands his straight forward didn't give him answers and he himself had to do some break ins and manipulations to get info he will understand her better.

Very well said 👏 He has to walk Nithya's path and realize how helpless she was.

We wont know if Durga will succeed in getting Payal justice. But if not for Dr.Thakur, the Goenkas would be roaming freely and there was only Dev who could still try to get justice to Payal and help Nithya.
