19Sep, Angad and gang take a hike!
In my wonderful Sahayadris and I was truly kicked; Of course, they all display their incompetence with rock-climbing by calling a carabiner a "hook" so you can expect that there's going to be a problem; Josh rocked, rocked and rocked today - first in that charming gossip session with KS, then in the flirt session with Mishty - "I think she likes me. But then, who doesn't?!" - and then in the buddy session with AK&KS; AK&KS bringing up the rear rocked too; there's an accident while climbing down a rock, but Josh's leaping to the conclusion that it was no accident wasn't well developed; and no-one seems to recognise that _anyone_ could have been the target; Honey Josh gets heart-hurt for the first time in the show when KS doesn't leap to his defence automatically :-( but soon recovers his good spirits; there's a mandatory sing-song session at the end where every girl seems to be mooning over AK, even though femme fatale Simone appears to be having a good time with FGPrithvi as well, and Josh appears to be trying to get Mishti's attention.
KYPH writers have created a wonderful character in Josh, who seems to be taking the star-shine-center-stage of the play just now. But they also seem to be setting up a "boy who cried wolf" situation with him? I do wish they wouldn't kill Josh.
20Sep, Angad plays hero in the rain
Up in the hills, the rains get torrential, making our gang want to dash back to the safety of the city; originally-from-mountainous-Nainital-girl KS is the most terrified of thunder; AK&KS bring up the rear and get into poetic trouble: KS-as-Jill falls down and breaks her crown, and AK-as-Jack come tumbling after; but given AK-superman-even-without-the-tshirt, KS is rescued and in a hospital before you can say "faster than a speeding bullet" where, of all people, NAINA comes to visit!; a Naina who is contrite and desperate to talk to AK, get him to come home, and who seems to have learnt all the right lessons from Mother Bose; when AK says that he won't abandon Daadi ever, she is quietly accepting; AK looks like he believes her because he desperately wants to; I do too actually because that will be KYPH Mom #2 who will switch from Vampire to Mom; the episode ends with some cute "drink your milk, KS" scenes with AK&KS and KS Parents after which Prithvi walks in with an offer for AK&KS to do a charity show in far-off Jalore -- for a large metro-city entertainment firm, Bose Entertainment sure finds weird places for our heros to do shows in!
The things to remember in this episode are: that sweet hospital-bedside scene between AK&KS, and Naina making good with AK. Seriously, I'm all agog with the idea that Naina will become a mom at such a grand old age! At the rate that this show is going, I'm going to have to throw away my special Dial-Buffy-the-Vampire-Slayer-number!
21Sep, Angad, a prince of a friend
Our heros, including Femme Fatale Simone, land up at Jalore (http://www.indiasite.com/rajasthan/jalore/) and almost instantly run into all manner of problems; the event organiser wants to use only AK&KS for the show which makes AK mad; Josh being a Honey is cool faster than AK is; the world really likes the original AK&KS dance a lot, but some are up to make some changes; this includes Honey Josh who sweetly suggests that AK use an entrance sequence that he has been practicing; AK is gungho, KS is okay, but Prithvi is loudly against it; the sequence includes fire and AK on a rope above it, and sure enough, a set of dastardly hands are cutting the rope from above; AK plummets down faster than an apple from a tree but a flying figure dashes across the flames to knock him to safety; the flying figure is not KS as I had expected, nor Josh, but FGPrithvi - hmm; FGPrithvi is back to Tattle-Tale Garnly Gnome mode with "I told you so"s being tossed at Josh, and KS clearly shows whose side she is on in the best-friend-Josh vs. best-friend Prithvi battle; Josh is hurt, but also guilty, but AK has no qualms about who was responsible for the stupidity of his actions -- ie, he himself!; he is happy with Josh replacing him in the show, is a true professional in urging KS to treat the show as the most important thing, and thrilled to little bits when the organiser comes back to Josh with offers for shows in other cities as well; KS mimics Prithvi's Beetle-Brow act and cuts a sorry figure with AK when she shows her anger with Josh; AK restores my faith in his character by refusing to dump his best friend for his true love, and is only partly appeased when KS comes to apologise unlike Josh who quickly urges them to "kiss and make up"; but there are two things our beloved boy-buddies don't know: it was FGPrithvi who convinced KS to apologise to Josh, and there's a nasty peeper who is photographing our "making up" duo.
You can keep the AK&KS pair -- I'm changing my T-shirt to read "AK-Josh friends forever!"; This was a meaty episode with all manner of nuances of relationships: we are shown in no uncertain terms that AK and Josh are best buddies forever; that AK has the moral fiber not to dump one relationship for another -- this was also apparent in his respecting that KS would not, should not dump Prithvi just like that for him; that KS will always tend to listen to Prithvi because she trusts him the most; that KS is going to be sensitive about what AK thinks of her. Which brings me back to my original thought: AK is seriously going to have to prove to KS that his love for her can never be questioned again - he really hasn't done this yet and I hope he realises this soon.
23 Sep, Angad and Kripa discover small town troubles
Err, what just happened? After that rather neat previous episode, we get switched to one filled with weird generalisations! Jalore residents should rise in a lawsuit against Balaji Telefilms (BT) for the worst made up moustache in Indian cinematic history; Jalore rickshaw-drivers should rise in a lawsuit against BT for portraying them as insanely customer-unfriendly; KS should do a lawsuit against BT for making her pick up a newspaper that was thrown at AK; another for not allowing her to go to the show under police protection with AK; another for .. wait a minute, should we the audience be doing all this instead? the really nasty (and only apparently relevant) part of this insane episode was KS thinking that the bill from the graphic designer was for Josh -- could it have been switched by the femme fatale, who after all has an evil purpose for being here; first, KS is on fire to go to the graphic designing shop for some odd reason, and then she is on fire to reach the theatre to warn AK about a _time_bomb_ which will go off when AK touches the mike (which is it, a time bomb or a pressure-trigger bomb? I guess Jalore residents aren't experts on bomb terminology?)
Frankly, I think that it's Karthik behind the Bottle-Brush-Mustache-Thug, given the incompetence of the BBM Thug (gee, I was missing our beloved The Thug of previous episodes...); even though all the evidence currently seem to want to point it out to be Prithvi, Prithvi would _never_ be this incompetent!; and don't even _dream_ of thinking it's Josh who has always always always only done everything for AK&KS! I detest violence, but I will slap AK upside of his head if he ever breathes a word of suspicion or anger to Josh, slap him HARD! :-(
