Chapter 11

Cold water splashed on Maan's face and he saw stars as he opened his eyes, literally! Maan jerked and sat up with a start seeing Geet towering upon him with...a bottle of water in her hands. He glowered at her... It was all her fault... Now that reminded him of the accident, the executioner...heaven...God...Cupid... God his head was throbbing with pain from all the thinking he was doing. Was it all a figment of his imagination? He looked around him, it was the same road where his car had struck the other car and further crashed into a tree. Well his car still laid there crashed into the tree...he frowned, his poor new shiny bright red car! He ran his fingers through his hair, muttering curses at Geet for the damage.

"Quit the whining Maan, we are in bigger trouble than this.." Geet whispered, her tone bit wistful now at the situation they both were in. Maan was right though, it was all her fault... Maan realized he was still sitting on the road...that means he was sleeping on the road previously... Eww he jumped up and away from the road, standing on his two feet. "It was all real? Really..." Maan trailed off, searching her face; for any signs of the fact that she was joking. Geet innocently nodded, wondering how was Maan going to react?

She got his reaction soon.

He burst into peals of laughter, his cheeks and stomach aching...as he couldn't comprehend that it was all real. Geet tried to stop Maan, by placing her hand on his shoulder. Maan stopped when he finally realized she was serious.

"Come on Geet, stop this nonsense alright..." He snapped frowning and started walking away. Not more than five feet away, he was collapsing on the road grasping his chest whimpering in pain... Geet too felt all the familiar pain now, except it was now bit bearable because may be it was Maan who caused the distance and she didn't, she reasoned.

However still it made her gasping on the road, as she made her way towards Maan crawling and wriggling... To ease his pain. After all it was due to her causing the accident, they landed in this mess.

"What is...happening?.." Maan rasped, still writhing in pain.

"Please Maan... No distance..." She whispered with much difficulty. Speaking drained much of her energy from the distance, it made her and Maan as well gasping for air... Seems her speaking...and depleting energy was affecting him as well. Finally the pain lessened as she was now in physical contact with Maan, her hand resting upon his as they stood up together. Geet gulped nervously, what was going to happen now to her...him...them?

Her emotions went haywire, now that her feelings coming forth with his close proximity, all thanks to the bond now, she fussed in her thoughts now. She peaked into the car retrieving her bag of clothes, that she was "supposed" to take to her home, Maan tailed her along...following her like a puppy. She paced around on the road, wondering what would be there living arrangements now? His or her flat?

She stopped suddenly, they would have to sleep together now? She almost shrieked in horror, as she bumped back into Maan, as he followed just behind her.

"What are you doing Maan?" Geet asked exasperated at his actions now. "Following you..." Was his instant reply, his eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. Following...really...they have to follow each other now, she would now have to watch his lousy endeavours with his numerous girlfriends ...just great; she muttered cursing herself.

"Besides I don't mind the position..." Maan winked at her, wrapping his hands around her waist. Sure he was still shocked about the whole situation, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the benefits of having her perky behind pasted to his front, finally he could act...if just a bit on his growing fascination towards her and also he didn't have to give any reason to her. He could just conveniently blame all his acts on the bond, that bas***d cupid had formed.

"Get away from me.." Geet pushed him away harshly, and almost like an immediate after-effect her lips smack dabbed on his cheek. Maan's lips forming a large O in shock, as his jaw dropped. What the hell did just happen, surely it couldn't be the bond right? Geet herself shock, couldn't even think for a moment... All she felt at that moment was the almost biting and surrendering command... Lean'... Kiss'... Cheek'... No distance' Only these commands and the overwhelming urge to be closer to him, consumed her whole self like an overpowering tornado it swept over her mind, wiping off her rational senses at that moment.

"Hey cutie, if you just wanted to kiss me, you could have said so. I would have gladly allowed it" He quipped after recovering from the shock, few minutes later.

"Of course not..." She scoffed, stepping away just an inch relaxing so that the bond wouldn't be pulled to work. She sighed heavily and thankfully, as she didn't have to kiss Maan... although it was quite... enjoyable and pleasurable... And made her-

God! What was wrong with her...this wantonly behaviour... it isn't her.. not at all! Must be the bond, damn it...Geet cursed ruefully.

"Come on let's get to the flat" Maan looped his arm around hers, taking her bag from her hand in a swift movement. Geet grumbled, handing him her bag...she didn't like to be dependent on him for such small things...like carrying her bag.

"I can carry it, Maan" She gritted her teeth, slightly miffed at his now carefree attitude. How can he be so carefree when they were in such a situation? "Come on I am a genteee-lll man alright!" He said stretching out the word gentleman'.

"Yeah right, gentleman like you kiss any woman so abruptly?" She spat, still angry about that kiss before the accident. Maan gulped nervously and then straightened, "Hey what do you know about it... May be it would have been...that...that cupid magic? You saw it right?" Maan lied through his teeth, patting himself imaginatively...as Geet nodded in hesitance and reluctance. Could it be? The Cupid planning this all along? "It may have been his plan from the first to string us along..." Maan trailed off thanking the heavens for making Geet doubt about it. He would be so dead otherwise, as now they were probably going to be living together...she would chew his head off, if she knew his intentions at that time were so not...eh honourable!

"So where we are going to stay now?" Maan changed the topic, subtly and that put Geet into another spiral of thoughts! What would all of their friends think when they find Maan and Geet so glued to each other...most of all Sam... No she just couldn't face them alone!

"Your flat" Geet made the decision on the spot, her tone flat. Maan's eyes doubled to the size of saucers. He thought she may want to stay with her friends, her supporters in the whole ordeal...

"Are you sure Geet?" His eyebrows raised almost up to the hairline, as he stared at her quizzically.

"There will be only one bed..." Maan trailed off, he had to give her some privacy... He wasn't that sleazy alright! Although he might take up the offer for one or two sleazy comments aimed at the sexy girl with that delicious behind, beside him.

"Why... what happened to Serry's bed? He was staying with you, right?" Geet was surprised...shocked... one bed, Maan and her together! That would be a disaster to her feelings that she seemed to harbour for that insensitive playboy.

"He is shifting to stay near Rose...together...and he promised his parents...to not land her pregnant till graduation...uhh that's why" Maan said, his face flushing red. It wasn't his thing to tell... it was Serry's and Rose's...but he had to clarify to Geet...he wasn't a hormonal person.

"Uhh... ummm okay... Let's just get to my flat, grab the bags and we will go to yours... I...don't want to answer people much" She said stifling a yawn, suddenly feeling so tired with the tension about the whole incident and their repercussions.

"You look like a zombie" Maan commented, chuckling to make her loosen up which resulted with a slap on his head.

"Yeah thanks for the compliment, playboy" Geet said sarcastically, turning away stifling the sudden pain in her heart. It pained to hear him say that...that she looked ugly. Her stomach coiled with an unpleasant feeling as she fluttered her eyelids to work back the darned tears.

Maan felt a stirring in his chest, it was really feeble but it made him uneasy. He looked at Geet wondering if she also felt the same. Instead she looked on straight, with a poker face lost in her own thoughts. He shrugged his shoulders, trying to ignore the feeling.

And so they went on reaching the girls' apartment. Abruptly Geet snatched her bag from him and made a run to the stairs. To avoid any more of the unbearable pain, Maan immediately followed her jumping up two stairs at a time.

The security guard just stood up, looked at them and shook his head and resumed his position. These two always seemed to be in fight and chase mode. Geet looked back as Maan chased her up, oh she just felt like a child right now... Except she felt like just throwing caution out of the window...which she couldn't when-

So lost she was, she didn't even realize as Maan stealthily sneaked up on her and scooped her in his arms. They both broke into laughter, smiling like they never had. It didn't even strike them about the commotion they were creating. Maan walked still laughing, with Geet in his arms into the lift as she pressed the floor number four. Maan let her slide out of his arms, as he caged her on the wall...giving her teasing looks that made her blush instantly.

As the doors dinged open, Maan shook his head teasing "Where are you going to run, dear cutie with sexy ass?" That earned him a slap on his head again! He pouted and pulled her close in his arms, she protested unwillingly! She didn't want to get caught...neither did she want the bond be forced into action. So grumbling, she gave in...allowing him to rest his hands on her shoulder...like two best friends would.

As they drew closer, Geet got more nervous while Maan was grinning. Oh Serry was going to be so furious! And that was what happened!

"What the hell Maan? Geet...?"

Serry looked extremely angry.

Rose positively confused.

And Sam raving jealous. It seemed a storm had brewed up in their lives altogether.

Oh curse the bond again!
