okay i have the whole story ....
There is a Museum of Prithvi Raj on Taragarh Fort Ajmer. It records his life span 1166-1192. Accordingly correction may be made in his birth year.
Jaichand did help Ghori. Ghori did finish him in an attempt to take over Kannauj. but Prc stopped him.
Second Battle of Tarain (1192 CE):
PRC was not captured in a proper battle.Hindus dont fight between sunrise and sunset. ghori got him in his palace at thst time. he got his eyes burnt bcoz he did not lower his eyes b4 ghori. chand told ghori that prthvi is a shabd bedi. ghori laughed at him and said that there is nothing like that.
Chand Bardai told Ghori that this taunting would avail nothing, for Prithviraj would never do as some sundry courtiers bade him do. He said that Prithviraj, as an anointed king, would not accept orders from anyone other than another king. His ego thus massaged, and in the spirit of the occasion, Mahmud Ghori agreed to personally give Prithviraj the order to shoot. Some iron plates were hung and Prithiviraj was asked to aim at them.A man was to strike the plate with a hammer and Prithviraj was supposed to hit that plate.
Thus, Chand Bardai provided Prithviraj with an aural indication of where Ghori was seated. He gave Prithviraj one further indication of the same, by composing a couplet on the spot and reciting the same in Prithviraj's hearing. The couplet, composed in a language understood only by Prithviraj went thus:
"Char bans, chaubis gaj, angul ashta praman, Ta upar sultan hai, Chuke mat Chauhan."
(Four measures ahead of you and twenty four yards away as measured with eight finger measurement, is seated the Sultan. Do not miss him now, Chauhan).
Ghori then ordered Prithviraj to shoot. Prithviraj thus came to know the location of Ghori and started shooting at the plates. When he hit the target courtiers said "vah" "vah" and Ghori said "Shabash", recognising Ghori's voice and turning in the direction from where he heard Ghori speak, Prithviraj took aim based only on the voice and on Chand Bardai's couplet, he sent an arrow racing to Ghori's throat. Ghori was thus stuck dead by Prithviraj. Prithviraj and Chandar did not want to die from the hands of Ghori's courtiers so they stabbed each other.
Sanyogita did sati. her infant son was not killed. when ghori's ppl came, her trusted friend and dasi(servant)who might be vaishali or chamki helped her by
a huge sacrifice. whoever that gr8 person was, she also had an infant son, who was placed beside the rajkumar. she changed their clothes. when ghori's ppl came, they asked 4 the prince. the dasi pointed to her own son in the prince 's clothes. the ppl stabbed him to death in front of her own eyes. this guy bcame a very capable a good son. he killed vanraj. he was also a good king but could not get back delhi.
Prc had two sons, and he made two swords for both of them. i think the first one died. but these two swords were studded with so many invaluable gems. the second sword did not have diamonds anyway. diamonds were on the elder son's sword. one of these swords was preserved under a stone slab in a fort. it is still there. the british could'nt find it.prc's son used it and replced there. maybe it was for his best son who could find it. i think it was the one AT JUMANAGAR, we saw in the dhoom 2 movie.
Even today afghans vent their anger on Prithviraj's Grave by stabbing on it through a rope & then pay accolades to their defeated king Ghori. It's a pity that the Indian Government who is engaged in the construction work of a war ravaged country (afghanistan)has no time to pay honour or renovate the grave of a Valiant King. his remains have bin brought to INDIA by a very brave rajput..unfortunately, he is in d jail now..coz he is the same person who has been convicted of killin foolan devi.
Chand Bardai
Chand Bardai (circa 1200) was the court poet of the Indian king Prithviraj III Chauhan, who ruled Ajmer and Delhi from 1165 to 1192. A native of Lahore, Chand Bardai composed the Prithviraj Raso, an epic poem in Hindi about the life of Prithviraj. Chand Bardai belonged to the community of Charan who accompanied Rajputs in war and peace.
The Prithviraj Raso was embellished with time and quite a few authors added to it. Only parts of the original manuscript are still intact. There are many versions of Raso but scholars agree that a small 1400 stanza poem is the real "Prithivraj Raso". In its longest form the poem comprises upwords of 10,000 stanzas. The Prithviraj Raso is a source of information on the social and clan structure of the Kshatriya communities of northern India. It is valuable not only as historical material but as the earliest monument of the Western Hindi language, and the first of the long series of bardic chronicles for which Rajputana is celebrated. It is written in ballad form, and portions of it are still sung by itinerant bards throughout north-western India and Rajputana.

a true tale of romance?
There are some historians who dispute the Prithvraj-Sanyogita tale. For one, they say its only source is a poem written long after the events were said to have occurred. Secondly, considering Sanyogita has been blamed for Prithviraj neglecting his duties -' leading to his ultimate defeat -' they point out that kings often had their favourite wives. For one to hold sway over his affections for so long would be unusual. Be that as it may, it's still a good love story. Why not leave it at that?
The Chauhan succession had been rather confused since the death of Vigraha-raja in 1165; Prithviraj reconsolidated control of the Chauhan kingdom and conquered several neighboring kingdoms, which made his state the leading Hindu kingdom in northern India. Delhi was captured from the Tomara Rajputs during the early years of his reign, and was renamed Qila Rai Pithora. He campaigned against the Chandela Rajputs of Bundelkhand. His kingdom included much of the present-day Indian states of Rajasthan and Haryana, and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. To this day, Prithviraj is considered to be a legendary hero and martyr by Hindus, and his lineage appears quite spread out covering vast tracts of Uttar Pradesh, Harayana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
