1st Test , Bangladesh Tour of West Indies, 2014

Bangladesh have won the toss and elect to field, Taijul Islam, the left-arm spinner and Shuvagata Hom, an attempt at a new Shakib Al Hasan, are making their Test debuts. West Indies have kept out Jason Holder for Shannon Gabriel. Four-man attack. Sulieman Benn is the lone spinner. Denesh Ramdin says he would have done the same had he won the toss, because of his three quicks.

None of the bowlers really looked like getting a wicket in that session, and Rubel didn't take that catch when that one golden chance came his way. The closest Bangladesh came to separating this pair, apart from that dropped c&b, was that run-out call against Gayle. Al-Amin's bowled fairly well, and Taijul's looked pretty good on his debut, but it looks like Bangladesh are in for a long and not particularly rewarding day of bowling. A wicket could change things, however, and Bangladesh will look to regroup and come back with some rejigged plans for the second session. West Indies will just want to bat and bat, and ideally bat just once, because it looks like there will definitely be turn later on.
