About Ram Kapoor
Ram Kapoor was born in a punjabi family to Mr.Anil Kapoor & Rita kapoor on September 1st 1973.He spent his formative years at Sherwood College boarding school in Nainital.It was here that he was introduced to acting, when as a challenge and an order from his head captain he auditioned for the annual school theatrical production of Charley's Aunt and performed the lead role. Under the direction and tutelage of Amir Raza Hussein, he found his career path and realised his love for acting. After completing his 10th board exams, he studied at the Kodaikanal International School. After his graduation Kapoor decided to join the entertainment industry and left for LA with the intention of joining University of California, Los Angeles to study film making but joined a Stanislavski acting academy in Los Angeles.
He is married to his co-star of Ghar-Ek Mandir, Gautami & has 2 kids Aks & Sia
Career
Ram Kapoor made his on screen debut with the television serial Nyay (1997). He took up three more shows Heena (1998), Sangharsh (1999) in the same year he was offered a part in Kavita (2000).
In 2000 Kapoor acted in Ghar Ek Mandir. Kapoor worked with Amir Raza Hussein once again in the play The Fifty Days of War-Kargil which ran for 10 days in New Delhi as a tribute to the heroes of the Kargil War. Ram played five characters.
In 2001 Kapoor acted in Rishtey, in the serial Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai and a cameo appearance in Mira Nair's film Monsoon Wedding.
He appeared in Dhadkan (2003) and Awaz - Dil Se Dil Tak', followed Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi with Bali (2004), a telefilm in which he played Prithvi Singh.
In 2005 Kapoor's Hindi movies were Devaki, Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow and Missed Call.
His next show was Kasam se(2006-09).It was this show which catapulted him to fame as the arrogant & ruthless Jai Walia.Ram is a breath of fresh air among male leads his natural acting and his ability to mold himself into the character...and the way he disappears into the character fetched him a huge fan following from around the world...after bursting into our screens as an arrogant, spoiled and uncouth yet loveable Jai walia. Ram selected a role which is quiet contrary to Jai in the show Basera.After breathing life into the character of Jai, Ram choose to try something different...so he turned into an Host taking up the responsibility of 2 swayamwar based reality shows.
Rakhi Ka Swayamwar & Rahul dulhaniya lejayega as a host.He also participated in Jhalak Dikhla ja as a participant.
Kapoor appeared in minor roles in two films in 2010. The first was the commercial Karthik Calling Karthik, with Kapoor playing the role of Kamath. The second, Udaan, was a Parallel Cinema directed by Vikrmaditya Motwane and under the banner of Anurag Kashyap.
In 2011, he starred in the show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain in the role of Ram Kapoor.Ram Kapoor the business tycoon..the character of Ram is complicated and filled with different shades... There was an underlying complexity to the character which he was able to make the audience connect with and love.. Ram never once made us feel we were seeing an extension of his previous roles... the similarites and the contrast of Jai and Ram...were carried with core perfection by ram... Ram remains as hero to many but it's Ram's hard work and dedication that made Ram what he is today...
In 2012, he had a role in the Bollywood movie Agent Vinod starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor as the leading pair.
