Kaif speaks about dubbing for herself, Bollywood and more

Being Myself: Katrina Kaif

After four false starts, Katrina Kaif finally gets to dub her own lines. She's warming up to the idea of hearing herself speak in her own voice now.
It's me (finally)

"It really does add to the performance, honestly. Now I'll be insisting on my own dubbing. When I look back where someone else dubbed for me, I go, 'No, no, no!

That's not me!' But in Namastey London and Apne, I felt I was watching and hearing myself," says the excited actress.

From professional dubbing artistes speaking for her in Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar (although she was sure her voice suited the character just fine) to synchronising voice and personality in her latest releases, Katrina has come a long way in two years.

Second home

Kaif feels the Indian film industry has given her a lot and feels completely at home in Bollywood.

"Every unit has its rhythm and atmosphere. A Vipul Shah production is different from a David Dhawan set-up, but I don't think I ever retired to my van for either Namastey London or Partner. With Vipul, I go blah-blah all day long."

But Katrina admits it gets lonely for her sometimes. "I miss my family at the end of the day. When I get homesick, I take off to Chennai to meet my mother and sisters."

Fortunately for her, everyone in Mumbai has been welcoming and encouraging.

Role reversal?

So has the seemingly unapproachable Katrina turned talkative on the sets? "If I get along with the unit, I talk until people run away! I think I'm happy with my progress. I need to work harder."

She recently shot a song with Abbas-Mustaan for Race. "It's so much fun to be on the sets with actors like Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu. They didn't make me feel unwelcome for even a second."

Ya I want to hear her own voice too and I think otherwise she is a good actress 😳

what you mean by dubbing? i thought namastey london movie was her own voice, can some one explain me what exactly happens in dubbing? is it the persons voice or some other persons voice?

-dubbing is when someone's hindi is not so good so they get someone to do their lines for them.
- and its someone else's voice

I think on the movie NL, they should've used her real voice because the person talking for her in the movie sounded like her.

hmmmmmmmm if the film makers are condersiding someone else to do her voice, why can they hire someone else to do her acting and dancing 😆 😆 😆 I'm just joking kat fans

That was her voice in NL ..LOL hahaha thatsJOKES😆
