She did it so dat no one breaks her heart as she has faced heartbreak twice. Why cvs never ever show a playgirl instead of a playboy like in old movies they showed some heroines like Rekha as dancer or hooker or even a vamp before falling in love wid someone? There sud be fair in these things too. Sanam falling in love wid Ahil too soon was illogical. After so much, if Sanam even holds Rehan's hands he goes crazy n psycho. In earlier serials, holding other persons hands occasionally were not big deals like its shown now. Wat answer vl Ahil give if Sanam asks him abt his affairs?
I disagree that Sanam falling in love with Aahil is contrived and illogical. Sanam was "Aware" of him, in a way that she was never aware of Rehan. That was clear from the start. Even when she disliked him, she was aware of his physical appearance and appeal. Like a certain fascination. You know attracted and repelled at the same time? A bit kinky if you ask me.
As for being a "Doormat" for Aahil? That is not what she is being. She is trying to be nice to him, because he went through a near death experience after saving her grandmother. She had just told him that she was waiting to be free of him, and she will be the happiest person in the world, when their "Fake relationship" ends, and he is no longer part of her life. So when this happened, she felt like it was a prophecy she fulfilled by wishing it to happen? Like ANY normal person, she feels bad and she feels guilty. She promised God in her prayer that if he spared Aahil's life, she would try to make amends to him for the things she said. THAT is what she is trying to do. Coz even as she said those hurtful things to him, she could see that he was stung by her words, maybe more than usual. There had been a certain understanding, almost a truce between them since their showdown about being jealous. All that went to hell with that argument.
Now comes the whole, ARI and his past Casanova acts and what if Sanam had acted that way? I am afraid that this is a societal problem that has no quick fix. I live in the West and here women are a lot more sexually free. But even here, a women does not take time to get a reputation as a "S**t". When a man in the same shoes would be a Stud! The age old double standard. But Aahil being jealous of Rehan has nothing to do with this double standard. HE is jealous, coz he is in love with Sanam. I dont think Aahil would EVER object to Rehan and his GF holding hands in his presence, or even Sanam and her BF doing so! Nor would he form any sort of judgment of them coz he saw them hug or kiss or be physically affectionate towards the other.
In this case, it is personal, coz the women he secretly desires and has fallen in love with, is openly displaying affection for another man, and he finds it intolerable. This has nothing to do with him judging Sanam. He is acting like a jealous lover who cant stand his love being close to anyone. Even if it is the smallest of intimacies. That is possessiveness, not bigotry. Sanam feels the same way after all! When she saw Aahil with that girl in Punjab, she was scandalized by the behavior in a semi public sort of place. Most of us would object to such acts. I consider my self quite modern and sophisticated, but even I object to that sort of thing. So she was shocked, and she formed an opinion of him as a playboy. When she heard him on the phone with that girl overseas, saying he "missed" her, Sanam thought to herself that he cheats on his GF's, coz she had seen him with another girl a few weeks earlier, and this girl had been overseas all that time. That Aahil had no real feelings for any of these girls is abundantly clear, considering how brooding and Devdas like he has been since he fell in love with Sanam. He hasn't even looked at another girl. But now Sanam was angry when Aahil close danced with that girl who came to visit, and she was Catty about how they were all over him! That is coz now she is possessive of Aahil and dosent like to see him close to anyone else.
But I agree, they should show more Bad girls falling in love and changing for that love. Like I always say, Bad girls deserve love too! Just like Bad boys do! :)
