The 'rebirth' of Amit Tandon | |
Singer-turned-actor Amit Tandon is returning to his roots. The Punjabi munda, is all set to release his inaugural music album. "All work has been done, we only need to zero in on the title for the album and it's launch date", says a thrilled Amit. The singer is keen to name it 'Rebirth' and a rebirth it truly will be for this versatile singer, who we all know had resigned himself from acting for music. Elaborating on the album, Tandon adds, "I'm happy with the way it's shaped. I wouldn't categorise it as it covers various genres. From romance to techno and trance, you'll find it all. There is a flavour of Punajbi and Hindi in most of my songs. 'Mera dil', a basic mushy number, is likely to be its title track. "It has been a hectic period for this hunk as he's had to honour his TV commitments (acting) as well as bale out time for his album. The actor, currently seen in serials like Kyunki…, and Bhabhi, may join Fox Production's Meri Awaaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni. "Talks are still on and if it all goes well, you'll see me in this show". Does he keep a track of the current season of his mentor show, Indian Idol? "My cramped schedule doesn't allow me to catch the action on Indian Idol 3. I haven't seen much of it but my wife updates me. Among the current contestants, I admire Emon Chatterjee", he voices. It was Indian Idol that showcased him to the world; however, Amit doesn't think that this talent hunt show can be your gateway to success. "This contest does expose your talent but once you're out, you have to make your own way. Look at Abhijeet Sawant, he was the crowned Indian Idol but where is today," he shoots straight-from-the shoulder. On a parting note, he gets more candid as he remarked, "At the highest level, you can't cheat music. An ordinary singer can become a good actor, but the latter can't become an accomplished singer." Is he trying to hint at the latest converts in the industry? |
