I actually wanted to share the last two beautiful back to back episodes on the rerun immediately after Shyam revelation. Such neatly packed 20 min each. One of the most beautiful episodes of the 398 I would say.
Only 4 Lions could have shown such subtlety and sensitivity. There were n't any high pitch convos as normally expected after such huge family debacles, That heart tugging music did most of the talking.. and two pairs of pain ridden eyes.. a very very special asr- khuhsi convo.. carried out without any words..
Did I ever see ache oozing from the face, eyes without the flex of a single muscle...
hi indu,
lovely post... they were quiet subtle moments and yes, that night might have turned into high melodrama elsewhere.
yet, paradoxically, i have still not quite understood what i really feel about these scenes.
barun was without a question absolutely beautiful. flow. it was all about that... i have never seen eyes that say so much, that are brother, lover, husband, even mother and vulnerable child... and not just the eyes, even the face, the body.
i know i felt khushi was came through as a bit flat, even a little unconvincing. this is purely on how my heart and gut react. i stared at barun almost open mouthed... and the other interesting moments that night involved nani... i liked the old lady's handling of a chaotic situation trying to stay calm through a typhoon... this has happened to her before... i liked them opting for dignity in her reaction. also that touching scene of mami and nani.
but i was quite shocked at the way no one seemed to care about asr or his well being right through... maybe in life such things actually happen and it is only in our imagination that we believe things will happen a certain way. but no one asked him even once how he had been...
the men who take care of families and are the main pillars i guess often get as overlooked as the bahus who toil to please. no one wants to know that the pillar can be needing anything, a fear perhaps, what if the pillar crumbles.
extraordinary grace in barun in these scenes. he seemed to understand this scenario... almost as though he has been there before.
