Consistency or Versatility?

What is more important to u? Performing consistently well in one genre or being versatile (choosing all sorts of songs) but giving a slightly above average or just mediocre performance (inconsistency)?

i thnk versatility but that too after u have a good command on one genre.

I am all for versitility. But if someone really can't be both versitile and consistent, i'd rather they be consistent and sing the same types of songs.

But to go right to the top, both versitility and performing continuously well while singing different genres of songs are necessary.

I think the Indian Idol should have a mixture of both consistency and versatility...Puja, for example has both of these qualities...Alisha pointed out that Puja was consistent in giving goo performances except for first gala, and Puja has sang all types of songs very very well. Slow songs-Tujhse Naraz Nahi Zindagi. Romantic Songs-Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai & Sajna Aa Bhi Jha Item Songs-Ishq Samandar.I take both of these factors into consideration and my Idol Puja has both of these qualities, but has very few ups and downs, and these factors build up in her appealing to me. PUJA ROCKS!

If one can't have versatility, they should at least go for consistency.

id say both..coz versatality is very important if u wanna take up playback singing as a profession n ppl want 2 hear diff songs from u..n consistency bcoz if u mess up 1 performance, u mite be voted out

the singer shud b versatile...and at the same tym maintain consistency too!!
If he/she cant b versatile due to certain limitations, then he/she should try to b consistent to keep going in the competition! 😃
