So, we were jus talking about that and she was kinda sad coz she really wanted to take up biology and go into medical whereas her parents were adament that she does her MBA which she incidetally has no interest in.

The last week saw us all see a different side of Abhimanyu and come to know the truth and the reason behind him joining the army..his father. And we all saw how he didn't want to join the army and how he doesn't fit in here. He has a passion for music and always had, but he couldn't get into it because his dad didn't want him to. Well, we all saw how he feels today, with insecurity and depression since he feels he's a misfit in the army.

Now, I see this thing around me quite a lot lately, coz basically, this is one time in my life and everyone whos in tenth, when, apart from boards tension, we've got to pick up our subjects for eleventh which consequentely decide our careers later in life. I see friends of mine wanting to get into one kind of career but their parents or family asking them to do comething else, more like get into "safe" careers or careers which they htemselves as youngsters could not pursue.

So, here are some questions I came up with;

- Do you think it's right when parents push theioir children into a career which their children don't want to get into?
- Do you think that at a young age, teenagers themselves have the maturity to decide what's right for them in the future?
- What can be the consequences if one does get into a career one doesn't like?

Since we have both grown-ups and teenagers and many members studying in college here, I just wanted to know what all of you thought about this. Waiting for your replies!

I'll post mine soon...but plzzz do get into the discussion..😳

Nice topic Prenz~13.👏👏

Do you think it's right when parents push theioir children into a career which their children don't want to get into?

if u ask me parents forcing their children into a career is the worst way to punish them.Neither will they have interest in what their parents want them to do and on the other hand they will lose interest in what they want to do,which will leave them no where.

- Do you think that at a young age, teenagers themselves have the maturity to decide what's right for them in the future?

Teenagers do not have all the maturity they need to decide on their own about their future but they will have an idea about their interests and what they would want to do later on intheir life.If they have the basic thinking then with the help of their parents ( that is if they are supportive enough to encourage them) they can find the exact path that they should walk on.

- What can be the consequences if one does get into a career one doesn't like?

Like i said before by forcing their children to get into a career they do not want to get into will the worst way to punish them.They will end up doing what their parents want them to do but with the least interest.And if there is no interest then nothing can be achieved.By doing this parents are spoiling with their own hands the life of the dear ones.
