Part 14:

Raman, on the other hand convinced himself that Romi was right. It must be that dancer girl's effect on him that made him slip out of control with Ishita and made him kiss her. In short, he was trying all sorts of justifications to clear up his mind and reasoning the cause for the kiss. Raavan Kumar was not the one to let go of his male ego so easily.

But the photo and Ishita's remarks on it was also working up his mind. He walked directly to the wardrobe and took it in his hand.

"Beautiful" that popped out of his mouth spontaneously as he looked at her on the photo! He decided to put that up on the spot opposite to their bed.

He walked to the wall and took out his photo which already hung there. He placed their photo in the same point and adjusted it properly. His fingers lingered on her and adjusting the photo was just an excuse to do that. It was already placed right but his fingers and eyes refused to leave her. Unaware of himself, his heart desired such a touch for real the same way. The angry yet passionate and sensual kiss was still playing games with his senses. He chided himself for the crazy thoughts roaming around his head. His line of thoughts was soon broken by her.

"Why did you put it up there Raman? No need to..."

He snapped her words, "maa kehti hai ke kaala teeka accha hai...bhoori nazar se room bacch jaaayega"

She was quick to reply back for his mock, "dont worry Raman...iss room ko kabhi nazar nahi lagegi...aap hai na yahaan...aur aapke itne saare photographs bhi hai!"

He looked at her impressed, "not bad...tum bhi one liners bolne lagi ho!"

She turned away muttering, "aapka sangath ka asar hai!"

Raman looked at her retreating back and the kiss effect dawned on him all over again but he ignored it for the moment remarking flirtingly with a wink, "chalo accha hai...tumpe kuch toh asar hai warna maine socha ke..."

His words naughtily trailed off while she gave him an angry stare before storming out. He shook his head naughtily before turning to give one more glance at her photo.

He took the other removed photo to a less used partition of the wardrobe. As he bent down to keep it on the lower most row, something caught his eyes. He pulled it out and held it closely.

It was a bundled up flowing skirt, the blouse and a dupatta. But what interested Raman was that it looked similar to the dress that Radhika had worn the previous night. He knew that Ishita never wore such dresses. It was something new and Raman instantly connected the dots. He, at once knew who Radhika was...

"Toh yeh baat hai! Mere jaasoosi karne keliye Radha bannke aayi thi Jhansi ki Rani...Now i understand why..."

His words and thoughts ceased as realization dawned upon him as to why he felt such a strong pull towards the dancer and why his heart paced up. But Raman being Raman brushed aside all those and hid his true feelings behind a taunting attitude.

"Ab iss madrasan ko main nachaata hoom!"

He put those clothes back in place and got ready for office. He didn't show off to her that he found out her secret.

A little later, as he walked to his car, he saw a group of people of the society in deep discussion about something. He overheard some talk and found out what it was.

It was about the society's Janmaashtami celebration and they were choosing people for various cultural programs. An idea struck Raman and he called the leader of the group aside for a chat. Raman said something to him and he nodded after some convincing.

Raman reminded, "Par kisi ko khabar nahi lagne chahiye ke maine usska naam propose kiya...tell her that she got selected by lucky dip draw...samajh gaya na?"

The person shook his head with a sly smile wondering what Raman was upto. Raman enquired when he turned to leave, "waise Krishna kaun hai?"

"Woh humaara baccha Shravan hai na? Accha khaasa dikhta hai Kanaiya ke costume mein..."

Saying that, the person left from there after noting down Ishita's name as Radha! Raman got into the car voicing, "PERFECT! Naachne ka bohat shauq chadi hai madrasan ko...Ab poori society ke saamne madam Shravan ke saath naachegi!"

He grinned cheekily thinking about Ishu's reaction when she hears this and also the dance.

That night, the same day...Raman sat on his bed surfing through the channels but his eyes darting to the door expecting her to come in and tell him about the dance program. He knew she would come running and tell him the fix situation. She would be totally freaked out.

Almost 10 minutes later, she came in ready to sleep. He looked at her expecting her to say something. She didn't even look at him but settled on the couch disappointing him. All through the night, he kept thinking why she didn't talk about it while she forgot all about it and slept. She was the extreme opposite to what he expected.

Raman's wait finally ended next morning when Ishita came up to him voicing,

"Raman I forgot to tell you...kal shaam society waale aaye teh...Janmaashtami ke celebrations mein mujhe Radha banaa diya... dance karna hai..."

He snapped her short, "lekin tum karna nahi chahti, right?"

She crunched her face wondering how he assumed that and replied, "nahi toh...Maine toh haan bhi bol diya...bohat maza aayega na? Routine mechanical life mein kuch toh interesting hoga...I was just informing you about it...Ruhi bhi bohat excited hai ke usske Ishima Radha banegi..."

He gave a dry smile seeing her cheerful smiles and excitement. But now he had no option but nod to her. "hmmm...naachlo naachlo...tumaara workout bhi ho jaayega...atleast, small size mein fit hone ka umeedh toh kar sakthi ho..."

"matlab aapko koyi problem nahi, hai na??"

He looked at her weirdly as if she asked something very silly and replied, "Mujhe kya problem hoga? Bas teek taak naach lena...humaara pariwaar ka izzat ka sawaal hai!"

She instantly shot back, "Don't worry...maine bacchpan mein bharatnatyam seeka tha...college mein bhi cultural shows mein naachthi thi...I love dancing!"

He just shook his head while she thanked him again with a sweet smile and left the room.

Raman's plan hadn't fallen in place as he thought but even then he was ok because she was happy about it.

Days moved on and Ishita's rehearsals went on full swing but it was all done under wraps so that the cultural event becomes a hit.

Soon the day of the celebrations arrived and a make shift stage is set up in the housing compound. The Iyers and Bhallas are all seated happily. Raman is as usual struck in office but makes it just in time for the dance.

As the curtains goes up, the families are all eager and excited to see Ishita's dance.

The music starts flowing and at the center stage, Krishna stands playing flute, surrounded with his gopiyaan. Ishita aka Radha comes slowly and starts her act by twitching Krishna'a ears. They start their dance in style and she is charismatic and graceful in her moves.

Raman is hell shocked seeing all that was happening. He catches hold of the leader of the group to whom he had suggested Ishita's name. "Oh hello bhaisaab, yeh Krishna kaun hai? Shravan kahaan hai?"

The person replied back hurriedly as he had to run off to the back stage, "yahi toh hai Shravan...humaara housing block ke Krishna Kanaiya...Sharma ji ke beta..."

At that moment, Raman also saw Shravan and Ruhi near the stage ready for their performance. Ruhi was jumping, and enjoying her Ishima's dance.

Raman grabbed the person back, "tumne baccha bola tha...yeh kis angle se baccha hai?"

The person turned to reply, "arre baccha hi toh hai...MBA final year padtha hai..."

He didn't wait for more from Raman but just ran away to the back stage. Raman turned his focus to the dance and his whole self burned in jealousy as he saw his wife dancing with the so called 6 foot baccha! His plans had totally backfired.
