I am better known as: Anvesha

I was born on: December 9

My hometown is: Delhi

My mother tongue is: Hindi

Some things about me:
- I did my schooling from Mayo School, Ajmer.
- I modelled with Elite modelling agency for two years before Remix.
- I had no clue what I was getting into when my co-ordinator sent me for a Remix audition in Delhi. I immediately go the role of Anvesha and came to Mumbai.
- The most frightening thing was to colour my hair red! I was quite against it.
- Today, Anvesha has simply become a part of me. Initially, I didn't understand why she was such a rebel. But when my friends and family saw the show, they laughed saying that I wasn't acting but behaving the way I do in real life.
- My dad is a principal and he is very happy and proud of the show and my role in it.
- I realise that we shoulder a tremendous responsibility as many kids look up to us.
- Today, I live with two other girls from the show - Pri and MP - in an apartment close to the sets. We have a blast; it's like a big party out here. Yes, we sometimes get to each other, but it's great fun all the same.

My experiences with fans:
The response has been amazing and I never imagined the show would become such a hit. I hang out a lot at In-Orbit, Malad, with a few others from the show where we get mobbed by youngsters asking for autographs and tips. That's really sweet and it feels good. But once, we went to Pizza Hut and there was a birthday party in progress. The birthday kid invited us and pleaded for my number. I didn't know what to do, so I gave my number and within a few hours, I was getting random phone calls from across the country! Some of the fans even traced my father to Lovedale, Ooty, where he used to be the principal and got hold of his current telephone number in Delhi and begged him to give my number! My poor dad gave it away out of ignorance, as he didn't know about the kind of calls I had been getting. Ever since, I have become a little more careful about things.

My idea of a perfect date:
Two words - great fun! The guy must be a great conversationalist and a good listener at the same time, because I love to talk too! And above all, he must be unpretentious. We must be comfortable with each other and do all the sweet things like watching a movie and sharing popcorn.

My background:
- I graduated from Symbiosis Law College, Pune.
- I participated in the MTV VJ Hunt and was at the top of the list.
- I have been a VJ with Zee Music.
- I always wanted to be a Channel [v] VJ, but auditioned for Remix and got the role.

Turn off in a woman: If she is not intelligent.

Turn on: A beautiful woman who is well-read and knows her music well.

First crush: Ira Bedi, in Class 4.

Hottest women on television: Aamna Shariff, Sonal Sehgal and the girl who plays Millee.

Ideal date: A real woman with a real job and a mind of her own. Someone like an architect or even a photographer. I'd prefer someone out of the film and television industry.

Current love interest: Question not applicable! (laughs)

One person I am in awe of: Ram Gopal Varma

Ideal holiday: Home

Favourite food: Ghar ka khana. I am total dal-roti type person but I love Chinese too.

Favourite game: Chess

Greatest passion: Music and films

Yuvi v/s Raj:
Initially, I couldn't identify with the character at all, but the crossover between the two has happened effectively. I have a lot of Yuvi in me today and a lot of Raj has become a part of Yuvi's character.

Saas Bahu v/s reality:
I really want to work with Ekta Kapoor and do the entire dutiful, young, doting husband thing!

Three of the craziest things that have happened while shooting for Remix:
1. Dropped Tia during the trust game thing that we played
2. Drowned Anvesha
3. Punched Sid
Errr… just for the record, they were all accidents!

On politics today:
I really admire Dr Manmohan Singh and have tremendous regard for him, but I believe the BJP should have come back to power for five more years at least. Mr Vajpayee was brilliant.

Harry Potter craze:
One must give all the credit to J K Rowling for getting kids hooked to reading once again.

All-time favourite films:
Usual Suspects, Seven, Closer, Lawrence of Arabia, The Matrix, Truman Show, All of Oliver Stone's Films, American Beauty, Padosan...
