It's silly when actors talk about films they didn't do: Deepika Padukone

August 21, 2014 Bolly-Freak 23254 reads 209 comments

Deepika Padukone is enjoying every bit of her stardom. However, the dimpled beauty still remembers her beginner days. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror Deepika talks about how she could blindly work for SRK and Farah. She also provides some clarity on the matters of the heart and comments on some of her colleagues. Excerpts:

When asked about Sonam's comment on her style and PR team in the chat show 'Koffee With Karan', Deepika said,"It doesn't surprise me. Sonam is entitled to her opinion. Yes, I have a set of professionals to look after me whom I trust. So what? My job is just to act."

When asked if Sanjay Leela Bhansali whisked her away from Shuddhi, the dimpled beauty clarified, "I was not offered Shuddhi. I did not leave any film for Bajirao Mastani."

Also, Deepika as always was asked about alleged beau Ranveer, to which the dimpled beauty replied, "Every relationship needs time, you need to nurture it. There's no point talking about something when you're not sure what you want from it."

There was a rumour that Deepika was offered Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo-Daro opposite Hrithik Roshan. Deepika made an interesting comment on this, "It's silly when actors talk about films they didn't do because they are remembered for the ones they did." Well, but that is what Bebo has done many a time. When asked if she was referring to Kareena, Deepika said, "No baba!"

Well, lie-o-meter anyone?

Trouble in paradise? Here it seems like she's admitting they are either having too much time apart or that they are just casually dating (friends with benefit)

It's silly to talk about films you haven't been approached for too esp when another actress is already part of the film.

Its not silly...but then there is no point in talking about it...because ultimately the movie belongs to the one who does it...but every actor HAS talked about the movies they refused ...some do it more than the others...but they all do..

she is right =] I find it distasteful when actors talk about films they rejected after the film is released... its the films they do dat goes to their filmography. I dont care if they lobby for unreleased big films but bragging after its screened n released is uncool. IMHO Kareena 's sudden declaration of rejecting Kangana's Queen after its declared a hit was distasteful ...w nobody heard of Kareena being the 1st choice of Queen before the release.

Never knew she was offered Kick. I read it in the Jackeline Fernandes interview posted here.
Nice, she said only one line when asked about Ranbir Kapoor.

Exactly! I don't understand why they do it though? I mean it's pretty sad that a movie you rejected went on to become a hit/BB...why would you announce that to the world. In Kareena case she thinks it's 'cool' to announce it as it would make others feel indebted to her.🤡

Sounds more like she's confused whether it's working out or not.😆
