Wow, I have never waited so eagerly for an episode in recent
times ... so much so, that I had to take a quick take before I headed to a
meeting ...
Today was a swan song for many things ...
1. Papita's swan song ... literally ... If only she knew what was
actually going on in Jalal's mind 😆
Oh and her name is a Sakina ... the wedding really didn't
happen ... what a technicality.
😉
And also all of Jalal's other enemies ... including the leaders
of the rebel ulemas. 👏
2. Take a bow Atgah Khan ... your swan song continues ... what
amazing acting that even you had deserted Jalal ... What a way to justify why he
was not at a nikkah so he could wait in hiding as a soldier. 👏
3. A swan song for Maham Anga. Again a brilliant performance
showing her two sides of loving and hating Jalal ...and the root cause of why she did not want
to kill Jalal, she wanted to control every moment of his life, not end his
life.
4. A swan song for Jodha's pain ... it was extremely heart
wrenching to see her pain as she removed her jewels and when she thought Jalal
was dead. But, I look forward to now to the happier times again.
There was a reason Jalal told her to not go to the wedding
venue, but Jodha being Jodha went. But, she gets to see the action.😆
And all these swan songs, for the rise of TE like the phoenix ...
5. And more on the TE's action this afternoon, but kya entry
maari as an old kaazi and in complete action. He knew all along from the bathtub
scene after all. 👏
Thoughts on the bhandaphod episode? I will be back with more
details ... but I actually sneaked it in a meeting room with folks around me ...
heights of craziness. 😆
As promised an updated detailed take dedicated to the shades of Jodha, Jalal, and Maham Anga.
My special take on Jalal today ...
1. He battled his own emotions. I really liked how his expressions changed when he was sadly looking at Jodha ... his expressions gradually softened to Atifa ... how hard he was trying to look happy that she was trying to sing for him.
2. He was a strategic planner ... he needed one of his allies outside of the wedding venue. How brilliantly he fought with Atgah to make it natural that he did not attend the wedding. This meant he actually did plan out the execution and he also did not do it alone.
And in the flashbacks, he explained how the hunting trip and cannons were also part of his plan.
3. Loved his authority as he entered the wedding venue ... he had full on double meaning dialogues as he told Hamida Bano - that this was "zindagi ki sabse khaas din" and "everything will be justified after the wedding."
Now my only question is , how did he replace himself? The CVs conveniently edited that scene. But, he looked like the Teddy Bear version! 😆
4. Seethi maar entry. Wow, what an entry to support his Jodha Begum as she was about to fall. Obviously, he did not expect Jodha Begum to be there. And what a punch dialogue to Amanullah Khan that he might have spared him if he had not dared to hurt his Jodha Begum. Full on seethis from me!
I think the SBS spoiler was a bit smart here ... they showed him as a soldier but he showed up as a Qazi. I wonder if the soldier spying was for another part of the flashback.
And boy did the his beard look like a bad Santa Claus wig ...but when it came off ... wow oh wow oh wow .. what an angry young man. The way he shifted his hands through his anger as if he did not know how to control his anger against Maham Anga.Uff!
5. The unfolding of the cards: And he unfolded his cards that he had held so close to him one by one. I loved how he told off Maham Anga for forgetting that he had been trained by her and how her intelligence was waning with her age.
Loved the way he told Maham Anga that he had already taken over the rest of the fort and even the cannons were part of his plan. He continued to explain how everyone of his OTT actions were driven by his plan.
His suspicions begin with the bath tub when he knew that an insider had helped Atifa get to his hamaam. But, he did not know who. He had spied on Atifa and to spy on her further had taken her on the hunting trip.
Loved the special romantic moment when he finally came to the awaited moment where he would begin explaining his actions to Jodha ... 😳
Loved the eye-lock there!
Guys, picture abhi baakhi hai on the plan and intentions ... so let us wait on it.
And I cannot wait for the precap, where the first hits of the pain he was struggling with all these days came out and his worst fears on Maham Anga came true.
But, I will save that for tomorrow!
A special note on Jodha: Today Jodha was a reactor but a special mention to Paridhi's expressions today and its evolution during the course of events
1. At first, she was walking lost and forlorn as if she had lost everything due to the wedding
2. Then she became a baaghin ... ready to attack Maham Anga for killing Jalal.
3. The joy that overtook her face when she recognized Jalal's voice ... as if all her happiness came back.
4. The look of happiness and understanding as she was hearing of Jalal's plan and particularly why he did not take anyone else with him. She is not going to misunderstand Jalal here.
5. And loved Jodha in the precap ... seeing the one lone tear that Jalal sheds. She has now understood the pain that he was bearing. This is indeed about strengthening and taking their relationship forward.
A special mention for Maham Anga: Hats off to Ashwini for an amazing performance. No take 5 here ... but three specific emotions:
1. The shock that Sakina had killed Jalal: amazing! She is a very complex character. She wants to control Jalal's life as she feels she has earned a right over it ... hence, she wants to control whether she gives him pain or happiness ... and also whether he lives or dies. She can give him all the pain in the world but cannot see him die without her permission.
2. A moment of happiness that she glimpses that Jalal was alive.
3. The cool composure with which she warns Jalal that she has most of the fort under her control. How does she manage to still manage her composure! Hats off!
I would still say there must be more to the story or how did she have the resources to pull this off.
So, now what are your thoughts on the shades of Jalal, Jodha, and Maham Anga?
