My dog chewed up my notebook - is certainly not the line you'd hear star kids use in school. One such preteener, son of a filmmaker, who has made a number of films with an action star, showed remarkable ingenuity the other day, when teachers at his suburban school pulled him up for failing to submit his homework. His story went somewhat like this - 'My father's last film has flopped so badly that he is broke. He sends us out to beg at traffic signals and I didn't get any time to do my homework!' That's not all. This astute storyteller even collected money for his classmates, promising them a role each in his father's next film. Someone's picking up the ropes too fast, we say!
