Were you shocked to be eliminated from Comedy Circus? I didn't expect to be voted out in the initial rounds. So yes, I was shocked.. especially since the judges appreciated our perform- ance. We didn't have the audi- ence's support. You didn't get support from your co-contestants either. They voted you out.. after all, you verbally attacked them. No, that's not true. The only nasty joke I cracked was on Urvashi Dholakia.. and we've been friends for donkey's years. The matter's too petty I don't . know about the other contest- ants. Anyway, no one wanted real competition I guess. What next? I will continue doing Aek Chabi Hain Padoss Mein and Soni Mahiwal on Doordarshan. What about Arranged Marriage? (Sighs) The show has been shelved. We shot 13 episodes. I thought it was entertaining.. but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Are you looking at any new shows? No.. I am free and open to offers. You did Koshish-Ek Asha with Balaji Telefilms years ago. Any more offers from that camp? No. Koshish.. was a wonderful show.. the only Balaji show I liked. They have a problem with presentation. They leave all the situations to God. That's not very credible. What about films? I haven't got any offers. I haven't knocked at any producer's door. Any plans to extend your family? Yes, but the doctor has advised us to spend some time together (laughs). I thought I would follow the doctor's advice.. that's when Comedy Circus sprung up. Since that's not a problem now.. I have heard you are planning a vacation. (Shhh…) My wife will kill me if you write about this. We've been planning a holiday for ages.. right now, it's in the discussion stage.
