No one said here just because some one where a traditional dress they are house wife & if some one wear a jeans & Robs they are employed. What we meant here was seher's way of stealing is so profffesional. Hidden cakes in keys, wires other tools etc. makes her a profffesional theif. Robbery is a crime. No one says that's a job here. What I meant is once the mystery solves even seher won't be shown as trying to study or go for some job.

your 2 'cents' have made me quite ' senti' !
I get awesome kicks out of watching a serial which has an all female montage(even if it is temporary)... now how many serials can boast of it...
About the jeans/trousers..and all that is western, your observation is quite correct. Its mostly non-Indians who do not give it a damn. 😕
the one reason I got on to this serial is because the girl looks like your familiar smart, independent , working and thinking woman. Nawab Sahib sure respects the woman in her like no one around her does! He has seen her resolve in the worst situations, most of which were created by him😆
I am not sure if it is in the scope of this serial to show proffessional growth of Sanam(I will not complain if they do), but its time to atleast start showing women in normal dresses, rather than the regular fancy dress , complete with all the paraphernalia... I did not wear so much jewellery even on my wedding. But must say that our Begum Sahiba Tanveer is an exception with great designer sarees and just enough jewellery... Sanam could do well with some elegant sarees/Shararas with lesser embellishment.

I seek out ur posts too...since you don't send me links.
I am watching this show for the cute love story...even if they don't show professional growth of Sanam, I can live with that. I just don't want to see this adorable character turn into a doormat at any stage.
I'll be honest...this is the only Indian show I watch ( besides the period drama that we both love...err, used to love watching...and Yudh has come to an end)...and, I rarely get to watch beautiful women dressed in twenty first century Indian dresses...so I am not complaining. My way of staying in touch with Indian fashions( hope I am not being misled by the fashion designers on this show) ...love Tanveer's sarees. My mom mentioned abt a new style of sarees which can be worn like a skirt... don't hv to spend a couple of hrs draping the whole six feet long cloth anymore...wow😃
Please send a PM if you make a post on the " other forum"...I'd luv to read ur POV now that the track is coming to an end.

Organised crime...professional assassins...I would call them professionals even if they are not respectable professions...They are also the people who give detectives a profession...Even prostitution is considered a profession, how much ever unpalatable that may be to our sensibilities. So I would request everyone who replied, to take it in that broad sense. 😳

Seher robs the rich...she is a RobinHood follower.😉 (Would be cute if they showed her doing some charity too...BTW, Robinhood was not respected either...so I wouldn't expect any amount of understanding for Sanam.)

I still disagree with the TM on the need for a woman to have a profession. Nobody is just a housewife..they are home makers. I have scores of Engineer/ Dentist (Exaggeration- OK- Atleast around 20.😃😆) friends who preferred to stay at home for their children to grow older and I deeply respect them for that. Some of them have started small businesses, some went back to PG, some started working...some will once their children reach a certain age.)

If I look at the characters described in the thread...

1. Khushi in IPKKND: Worked when she had the need for it. Once her marriage with ASR started working out, he offered to set up a business for her, and she refused.👏 She wanted to do something by herself..THE FIRST STEP to that was to prove her worth to HERSELF...and she went on to become Mrs. India. (😆 No comments on the track.) It is no secret to ardent IPK fans that had IPK not died suddenly,😉...ASR was to die and Khushi was to carry on the business. (Incidentally, this is what Paakhi is doing in a show named Tumhari Paakhi.👏)

2. Zoya: Never came down to India to be a professional. She came in search of her dad...and once that ended, she found herself a mother to twins...I applaud her if she decided to sit at home and look after her children at least until they could be sent to school- ABSOLUTELY NO ONE CAN REPLACE A MOTHER...Ofc, if AsYa lived on till then, Zoya would have got up and gone and worked for sure.😊

3. Sanam: Is paying off a debt. Once that is done, and all her problems are solved...may be she can start another dhaaba. As of now, she cannot, since she is stuck with Aahil...and later on it depends on the necessity Vs.what the situation demands. She has made a promise to find out about her parents. So it looks like that will be her first priority.😉

4. Seher: Does not look like she has received any formal education. But she is good with gadgets, I suppose. May be we will see more progress in future.😊

5. Tanver wanted quick money...she got that. Why would she need to work? She loves dressing up and behaving like a queen...and anyway, she was in jail all this while...

6. The Female Lead in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is a working dentist. Many characters throughout the many showson our TV have small businesses like pickle selling. Sandhya in Diya aur Baati hum is an IPS officer. She did sit as a housewife for a long time. Thankfully her show ran successfully enough for her to do IPS and go on to become a Police Officer. (I hope she is not sitting at home again😆)
Pragya in Kumkum BHagya is a Professor..her mom runs a wedding business all by herself...

We see women in all walks of life in Indian shows..I really did not get what we are complaining about!😕
