You can take guidance from elders but I think everyone need to start figuring their financial investments out to suit their own life style for present and later when retired. Things have changed alot and if elders are not upto date the latest they would be giving u outdated info unless they are hipp kind a people who are up with the latest 😃

I prefer handling my own and not to even trust financial institutes with my 401K 😃

401K?!!! DB you know you can trust me, right?😳 😆

I agree with you, everyone needs to start on their own. Finances have to be dealt with for life, the sooner you learn the ropes the better it will be. Plus it all depends on your income and your lifestyle, which then decides your savings. So you need to undergo this yourself to figure out what best suits you. I absolutely detest thinking about handling it and lemme just say it: I just hope and pray I find someone like my jeeju Mr. Qt to take care of all the financial strategies and what not😳

Great post DB jaan! 👏👏..
LOL Neetu.. yeah, financial-retard sisters like us always have men to secure all those assets 😳 and we should also start learning from them :)

No generalizing Anshu! Elders just means they were born before you were 😳. I would trust GREENSPAN because he is brilliant and trained and experienced in finances.. not because he is older than me. My kids will do much better investing than me one day 😆😆.. No, they need not, rather MUST NOT follow my footsteps.

hmmmm...suno sabki, karo khud ki. what worked really good for my dad in 60's, 70's, and 80's might not work at all for me now. I am just like my dad when it comes to investing my money....very risk averse. apart from that, I make my own decisions...or rather pick the kind of portfolio i want based on the degree of risk i am comfortable with and period of time i want to invest my money and then leave it to Merryl Lynch and American Century to take it from there 😃
