It is to bring Kumud's mindset back to track as she has been thinking that it is because of her everytime Sara's life is in danger. When Saras was in hospital she decided to stay away from Saras so atleast he could be alive and she communicated the same to Dugba as well. Saras overheard or Dugba communicated to Saras I am not sure of that. So he came out with a plan teaming with the family members. So he is acting as if he doesn't know Kumud. Hope this helps
