Mrityunjay's hair & facial hair saga

Hey ladies aur unki gentlemen,

On the occassion of Viraf becoming clean shaven, here is a little post, a post analysing the importance and also the symbolism behind MJ's hair and facial hair.

1. Baalon ki dukhan:

The long and flowing hair of the prisoner MJ was close to the hearts of all EBI fans and his hair made us fall in love with him. He was possibly the only male lead to ever pull off the long locks but longs locks were more than just a fashion statement.
MJ would let his hair out when he was mistreating Tara his wife and he tied it up when he was meeting Tara his friend and that's because the hair represented the duality in his personality - Prince Charming and the Beast. Additionally, the long hair was also a symbol of his life as the shy and reserved MJ who accepted the crime of another and lost will to live his life.
Tara came into his life and on the occassion of their third wedding, which they both wanted from the bottom of their heart, Tara jokingly demanded MJ to cut his hair. This third wedding was their chance to start a new life together where the grievances of the past would be forgotten and hence the chopping of the long locks was a symbolic move as it showed us that MJ was ready to part with his past and embrace the new life and attitude with Tara by his side.

2. Horrendous Handlebars:

Post-leap we saw MJ lose his memory and become Balli, the feared ruffian of the Delhi basti, who dressed in shocking neon kurtas and sported the ugly handlebars. Then we saw him become Tara's bodyguard which forced him to ditch the colourful attire and put on clothes more relieving for the eyes but still he was Balli from mind and soul. He still identifies himself as Balli and the only way Tara can convince him to accept his real identity is to make him believe wholeheartedly that he is MJ, from both the inside and the outside. However, the outside is far more easuer to change than the inside but it can trigger the change within so that should be Tara's next target.
By having MJ shave off those handlebars, Tara will be bringing him out from this Balli facade and closer to the real MJ and maybe she will compel him to grow a stubble or a full beard like MJ.
Yes the handlebars were hideous but more than just a fashion statement, shaving off the mooch is again Tara's way of bringing MJ out of the darkness and into the light.

I know the clean shaven look is more Viraf than MJ but I think that this is good. It's something fresh and new and also it'll allow him to grow his beard back properly. I like that Viraf is being given the opportunity to experiment with various looks and portray the various shades of MJ. Do leave your thoughts behind 😊

Point to be noted. MJ who was in love with Tara got rid of his long locks for her but refused to get rid of his stubble, even though she whined about his not listening to her on their SR. In fact, he was so annoyed that she asked him to lie that he would do so, that he even tried to sleep on the sofa instead of sharing the bed with her. It is another matter that he had to return to her after a while but even then he stubbornly kept his beard, although he thinned it a bit.

Now Balli who claims of having no memory of their marriage or his love for Tara goes to the extent of going clean shaven for her birthday.

What do you make of this? Is Balli's heart softer than MJ's?

Wish Tara had asked him only to get rid of his handle bars and not the entire mooch. Profile is not a very flattering pose for a clean shaven Viraf. My all time favourite will be Ballon ki Dukhan do. Nothing to beat the majesty of that look. he truly looked like a lion. That wig he wore had the silkiest and shiniest hair. Was better than Chhavi's wig.

It seems to me that a change in his hairstyle and/or facial hair style is accompanied by a change in his character in some way!!!!😊

Well judging from the precap, it looks like Balli's self-control as bodyguard has also been shaved off with the mooch 😆

The first time I ever saw Viraf was with his clean shaven look so I really loved his face then. I love his face with a stubblr and a beard too but it's refreshing to see him clean shaven 😊
