After creating a sensation on the music scene, Himesh Reshammiya is launching himself as an actor this Friday with Aap Ka Surroor: The Movie -- The Real Luv Story.
Other than the creative spellings, people noticed the "Real" in the title and asked him if it was autobiographical. Himesh said it was. We now learn that this is not the case, and give exclusive details of the film's storyline.
Our unit source in AKS said the film is only fleetingly based on his life. "Himesh goes to Germany for a musical show and gets caught in a sting operation which ends in murder," said the source, "he is arrested by the German Police but to prove his innocence he runs away and nabs the real culprit."
Intertwined with this plot is his love story with newcomer Hansika Motwani, who now calls herself Riya (also her character's name in the film), who plays a fan Himesh encounters in his hotel room in Germany. Mallika Sherawat is shown playing the character of Ruby James, a lawyer by profession residing in Germany. "Mallika is shown lusting for Himesh but he prefers Riya to her," the source said.
"Himesh was never a victim of any sting operation nor was he ever charged with murder in his entire life," said the unit member, "so I don't think it can be called 'the real story' or whatever."
"Yes, he did have a love marriage -- who doesn't? -- but it did not happen the way it is going to be projected in the film," he said. For two years Himesh has been sporting the same look – baseball cap, jacket and stubble. He said that the reason he always wore the cap would be revealed in the film. Asked what the secret was, the source said: "It must be his bald pate."
Himesh got a hair-job done, says the buzz in the industry, and needed some time till it was done properly and so the cap. One thing that was in fact common to the film and the singer in real life, said the source, was his resilience. "Himesh is a fighter and has never achieved anything in life easily."
