Akbar should also be given the alias, Henry the 8th, because they are not so different in their debauchery. Akbar may not have beheaded any of his wives, but their lusting after women, including married women is a deviant behaviour.
Sure, this Akbar is the product of some one's imagination, albeit limited imagination/creativity, nevertheless, the message they are sending is disgusting and offensive to those of any religion.
Yes, we are all aware that polygamous marriages are particularly brutal on the faithful wives, and the females are in reality exploited for the sense gratification of the men. No wonder it is a criminal offence in so many countries.
What this show has done is try to re-write history in the foulest way possible. Whether it turns out that Akbar is acting for some greater cause or not, this portrayal of his character is of a man of the lowest kind.. a man who has no idea what constitutes justice or basic morality. A man who is a complete hypocrite.
After capturing his prey (Jodha), he has seemingly replaced her with a married woman who sings. He was only interested in Jo as long as he had not captured her,the hunt was what was the thril and attraction.
I don't care what comes later to redeem Akbar,as far i am concerned, what he has done cannot be undone.
Now we all know where the saying "Its a man's world after all" comes from. To show a pregnant wife being so mistreated at a time when she most needs the love of her husband, a husband who apparently had prayed for children, is unbelievable. To trample on her feelings because she choose to exercise her right to cash in a promise to save a life and show compassion is absurd. Whether this act was needed or not, it makes sense that a pregnant woman in her first trimester will be hormonally challenged and prone to be adverse to acts of violence and death as she is carrying life inside of her.
No wonder we all want to throttle those involved in the present useless track.
