jalal is definitely acting, he is trying to expose atifa nd her husband for what they really are as of now i dont know what that his but i know what gave jalal the clue.
the first episode where atifa was in the bath and jalal saw her face i was unsure as to why atifa was afraid that jalal had seen her face when her intent was to woo the king.
the fact remains that it was not her intent to woo the king she was sent there to kill jodha's children; buy whom i dont know yet but i suspect mirza hakim. anyway the fact that she got scared when jalal saw her face was because she noti supposed to be there in the palace until the following day when they were announced in the DEK by Atagh Khan she never supposed to be seen by anyone until she was announced farless the king. jalal knew this, and that is why he was shocked to see her face when her dupatta blew up, how could this woman who was new to agra be bathing in a royal bath, that means that they were snuck into the palace before they were even announced and jalal noticed that. this is the reason he was so interested in seeing her face in the DEK he wante dto make sure and when he was sure he realized that something was afoot and his begum and children were in danger. this is when he decided to get closer atifa to gain her confidence in finding out the truth. the reason he painted her portrait was so that he could remember her face and recognize when the time came.
i think that mirza hakim is the one that has set this whole scenario up because he wants to ensure that no heir is born i think that his mother has finally gotten to him.
