Today's episode has made me go on a resolve ... Either Jalal is totally in control trapping Atifa or is completely out of control in a spell.
There is no way ... Naturally, in his own judgment, he is telling Atifa the same words that he told Jodha in four days. Unless, he has split personality disorder. Even at the height of his ego, he did not behave this way ... And even if his love for Jodha could prove weak, never his love for God and not in the holy month of Ramzaan. The CVs cannot fall to that extent.
My resolve: I am so confident about this ... That if in the end of the day it is shown that Jalal fell for Atifa, I will stop writing my takes. Not because I think Jalal is beyond the redemption, but because the CVs lack the creativity to utilize the amazing talent they have.
Because, Rajat's Jalal is giving me full confidence he is acting and has an ace up his sleeve. But, the only thing I distrust is the CVs creativity to come up with such a brilliant track and go with the simpler "spell" twist. That being said, hats off, to Rajat to give us subtle hints he is acting ... šWhether it is true or to trick us ... Only time will tell.
I don't know if anyone has seen the Tamil movie 12B- it is very interesting. The movie starts with the scenario does he catch the bus or not ... And then the movie shows two parallel tracks if he were to catch the bus and if he were not.
And I will do today's take in a similar way, I will reflect on the episode in two worlds ... "The teda plan" world and the "the spell world".
So, here is my take 5:
A mini take 5 within my take 5: Five subtle hints that Rajat's Jalal is giving that he is up to something:
(1) Hints in the scenes up to his meeting with Atifa:
i. The hidden anger that comes out in his sword fighting ... What is Jalal so angry about? The anger with which he lashes out in the swordfight hints to me he is trying to take out his emotions that he has to restrain in other situations.
And if he is a lovelorn new Romeo, what is he angry about? He should be all lovey dovey.
ii. Double meaning in his dialogue to Todarmal (who made a guest appearance today just for me š) - "Hum yeh sab bhaite bhaite nahin dekh sakthe" for much longer ... Hinted he is waiting for a big trigger to drive action
Addendum: Yes, I should have also added his look when he said Ruqaiyya sent you to Atifa ... but I know a lot of people caught that. š
(2) In his meeting with Atifa (in the end):
iii. "Jaon yaha se" instructions to the guards out of Atifa's room ... I have never seen Jalal do that to his guards ever ... and he has shown his affections to the whole world. Why would he do that? I think it was to make sure they do not stop Atifa's husband and he comes in to take the plan to the next step.
iv. Jalal was OTT galore when he entered dramatically saying "Humne sunna aap jaa rahi hein" but all that feelings and emotions disappeared the moment he hugged her. Have you ever noticed Jalal's expressions when he hugs Jodha (and no comments on difference of distance, please š)?
v. Jalal's questioning look when Atifa's husband enters ... wondering what he will do now ... and then he is very calm while listening to her husband before he suddenly bursts out ...
and of course that half-smile that zoomed in the end. š³āļø
In the Teda plan word: Hats off Rajat for giving the audience such subtle hints! š
In the spell world: Hats off to Rajat for rising above the script and playing with the audience! š
(3) If Shariffudhin is so smart, than Jalal better be! CVs are giving the men on this show new-found intelligence is also giving me hope. Shariffudhin had a a great plan to bring Khaiber to the well and monitor who comes to visit him ... in the jail, Khaiber would have multiple visitors
Also, I think knowing MahaC's role in this will further help Jalal unravel the puzzle from the aforementioned discussion with Todarmal and is starting to figure out who is helping MahaC. š
In the Teda plan world and in the spell world: Finally, some men are starting to think on this show!
And loved how Shariffudhin said "hamari Jodha Begum" again. There is a limit to wishful thinking! š
(4) Ruq's is never right about Jalal. Ruq's has never once been right in judging Jalal's intentions when it comes to women ... so I have this strong hope she is wrong again.
On a side note ... I loved Lavina's performance today because it was mixed of her own sadness but her happiness on seeing Jodha sad. When she first sent Jodha to see Jalal with the Prasad, she was not smirking, she was sad ... that Jodha would face what she always did- the sense that Jalal would never belong to her.
In the teda plan world and spell world: I hope , as always, Ruqaiyya has misjudged the situation again.
(5) Paridhi's Jodha's beautiful portrayal of her sadness: Compare Jodha's reactions to seeing Jalal close to Ben and today, and there is a world of difference and you can see how much she is in love with Jalal. No one wants to see Jodha sad and it was heart-wrenching when she asked Kanha ... what is she being punished for?
I also liked her maturity ... that she was willing to talk it out and understanding she may have reason to apologize though her intentions were not wrong. Even if Jalal is errant (which he is not), I know Jodha will do the right thing.
In the teda plan world: There must be a huge danger hovering over Jodha that Jalal is going to this extent to hurt her. But, if that is the case, Jalal will be hurting as well. I think he must know there are spies and not know who they are ... hence, he cannot disclose to Jodha.
In the spell world: Again, Jalal is not at fault. If anything he is a victim just like Jodha.
So, thoughts on my take and the episode? If I am wrong, well you won't have to deal with these takes anymore. š
P.S. If all fails to cheer you up, enjoy Rajat's Jalal swordfighting , dripping with sweat šš³š
