SRK will continue to do 1 film per year it seems. Fan in 2015 and Rohit film in 2016.

What about Raees? It was supposed to go on the floors from November onwards for shooting

The Eid of 2013 turned out to be very special for Shah Rukh Khan, as he gave a blockbuster like Chennai Express with Rohit Shetty last year. And now, the director-actor duo has decided to collaborate once again for yet another film.

Though filmmaker Rohit Shetty is not ready to divulge any details about his next film and has been keeping even the genre of the film under wraps, he has finalized Shah Rukh Khan to play the leading man in the film. However, Rohit has curtly maintained that the details of the rest of the cast will be finalized, once the script for his next is ready. We also hear that the film in question will go on floor in 2015 but the month in which the film will be ready to take off will depend on the date availability of Shah Rukh Khan.

The idea of a film together was culminated after the grand success of their first association - Chennai Express starring Deepika Padukone. It was the first film to cross the Rs. 200 crore mark in 2013 and the second film ever to do so in Bollywood after Aamir Khan- Kareena Kapoor starrer 3 Idiots. Since then, Rohit Shetty has always maintained that he was keen on working with Shah Rukh Khan once again and now he is working towards to fulfilling his wish. Rohit is known for his mass entertainers with elements of action and songs in complete Bollywood style and his next film with Shah Rukh Khan is said to retain the elements.

Prior to this, Rohit Shetty has always cast Ajay Devgn in almost all his films since Zameen in 2003, and Chennai Express was his first film as a director which did not star Ajay Devgn.

Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is busy with Farah Khan's Happy New Year and Rohit Shetty is gearing up for the release of Singham Returns starring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor that hits the silver screen on August 15.

I thought that with Fan and Raees, SRK was finally making a course correction. But I guess D3 and Kick have put paid to all his honest intentions of doing meaningful films. It is Salman who seems to be testing new waters now with his next set of films. Who would have guessed?
