this is my first time posting a debatable question so sorry if posted before.. well, here it

do u prefer living with your grandparents.. or someone older.. or do u think that when u grow up u move and live with ur children/husband or watever..

a real life example:
in my family my dad;s older sister got married and moved with her hubby since he got a chance for a job.. so did my dad's older and younger bro/sis.. later his younger bro moved after studies... we too had to move so i can get advanced mediccal attention...

now a couple years ago my grandparents came to stay with one of the sis for a couple of months.. at first it was fine. but. my grandpa is sort of strict so he didnt like so much music, movies, posters.... and my cousins, and aunt got annoyed of him and started wishing they would leave! they are coming once again to our place. personaly i cant wait!!! but im just wondering

wat would u think? is it better to stay away from your grandparents or living together....??

(note my aunts and everyone lives in canada and i live in usa.. my grandparents are from pakistan?

You'll have a great time with your grandparents, as I think they are one of the people you come to love the most in your life 😳

Like Dabluss said the other day, joint-family presents situations that are awkward to say the least, so nuclear family is the better option because everyone has a different way of living, and no one likes nagging or being overpowered (in both the grandparents, and parents case.)

Thanks Fatima for remembering my post 😛.

BC, Dunno your situation where Grand Parents have to live with one of their children or not. If they are with you guys temporarily or permanently is another question. I personally prefer nuclear family so each family have their own independence but at the same time having joint family at reachable distance. Meaning other families are around where everyone can meet every so often but they are not around your day to day life. Here by everyone is happy. Win-Win situation for all.

If Grand Parents have no other place to live than they must be taken care of by their children. But communicating with them to help them understand the generation gap can ease things alot. My best wishes BC 😃
