ViAra OS : On a full moon night

After all the work of the haveli, as I laid on my cold bed; floor; Mahi came towards me and shoved onto me a big bunch clothes and instructed me to iron them with her usual cold tone towards me. Mahi, she is the half heir of this haveli, daughter of Preet madam. She is almost 7-8 years younger than me ...uhmm maybe 13-14! And I'm used to her rude behavior towards me, almost all the servants are used to it I guess !! I work here from the age of 15 ...from the day my mom left me alone in this world. My mom worked here...and I took her place, when she passed away. Coming to the point, I was nothing but a replacement to do the chores of this haveli.

I got up and started to pile up the clothes shoved onto me. And I started to press the clothes one by one carefully. As I didn't want to burn them ...and if it happened then Mahi would surely hang me till death. And trust me you wouldn't even like to hear what Preet madam would do with me!! The time passed as I ironed the clothes ...and the clock struck 10, making a sound. I glanced at the clock ...hoping I finish my work soon, when Mahi again threw a heap of clothes beside me. As I glanced at the heap, she said "tumhe yeh sab aaj raat hi karna hai ..!!" I looked at her horrified and she walked away flaunting her frock. I took a deep breath and continued with what I was doing. I was feeling sleepy...I yawned maybe 1000 times ...but I told myself to continue the work, as I knew what it would result in !!

God knows how I drifted to sleep that time... After which I only woke up with a scream and a burning sensation in my fingers. As I came out of the sleepy mood and analyzed things I realized that my fingers were under the iron box and Madam held it tight against my fingers. I pulled my fingers aback and started blowing them to reduce the burning sensation. Maybe Mahi had seen me sleeping and called Madam Probably she tried to wake me up and when I didn't she pressed the iron box against my fingers. I was blowing my fingers when I heard Madam say... "kaam karte hue jo so jatey hai unke saath yahi kia jayega ...samjhi tum ??". She said in her normal wicked tone. I nodded in a yes with a frightened face, tears descending my eyes and they both left from there. And I again got back to work ...this time in determination to finish work as soon as possible and not to dooze off. I finished my work when the clock almost struck twelve. I took a breath of relief and went in the kitchen to apply some ice on the burns ...

As I tried to sleep on the floor with a mattress ...I remembered something. I quickly got up and hurried myself out of the haveli and started running into the woods as I was already late! I ran for minutes and I finally reached the place. Huffing and puffing. And there I saw him ...he was still waiting there. I smiled. I whispered his name to bring his attention towards me from the sight in front of him.

"Vivaan."

He turned and whispered my name.

"Dhara."

He walked towards me and hugged me tightly as if I would slip away if let loose. I hugged him back. We sat beside each other glancing the full moon. His arm wound up around me and my head resting on his shoulder. There was a moment of silence between us. Nothing to speak ...

And he breaking the silence said "mujhe toh laga tum nahi aa paogi ..!!" and he parted a bit to look at my face and kissed my forehead. And I smiled ... "actually ...mai bhool gayi thi ..par jab sone gayi tab yaad aaya." I said suppressing my laugh. He looked at me with a question mark face and I couldn't control myself and burst out in laughter. Looking at me he smiled and seconds later he even burst out laughing ..!!

Being beside him felt so positive. I loved the aura whenever he was around me. It makes me feel as if nothing can go wrong in my life. That everything is perfect. He made me feel alive. And out of the blue we saw a shooting star...we both quickly saw towards each other and again towards the shooting star ...closed our eyes and wished. I wished that the time stops here for eternity. And if that was possible maybe I would be happy forever ...and maybe he also wished for the same that the time stops whenever I'm with him...

As we opened our eyes we had a big smile plastered on our lips. He took hold of my fingers and was going to say something ...but I hissed in pain and withdrew my fingers back ...remember the burns?? Again I started blowing my fingers for some soothing...he frowned his brows at me and grabbed my wrist carefully and saw the burns. Until now tears were descending from my eyes in pain. He looked at me with worry lines on his forehead... "yeh kisne kia ??" ..i tried to withdraw my wrist from his grip but I failed ...and getting no answer from me he assumed it to be Preet Madam. "Tumhari Madam ne kia??" and I just looked here and there with tears flowing ...and he said "dard ho raha hai kya??" I shook my head negatively ...and he started blowing my fingers, as I was doing earlier...i looked at his tensed face and a small smile escaped my lips. And I felt a drop on my hand ...and it took nothing less than seconds for me to make out that he was crying. I held his cheeks with one hand and frowned at him saying... "ro toh aisey rahe ho jaisey tumhara haath jala hai.." and his reply stunned me for secs... "tumhe lage, ye mujhe lagne ke barabar hi hua..!" and he continued blowing my fingers...

We stayed there for hours...till the sky started to bright it's color a bit. I got up and started to leave from there...he grabbed my wrist quickly and kissed me, making me tremble against my knees. Shivers passed down my spine... I parted and turned to walk away ...I heard him say "I love you" I stopped in my track and turned to look at him blushingly and said " I love you too !" and I walked away from there before the sunrise.

I reached the haveli. And to my shock there stood the heir of another half of the haveli . I asked him being surprised "tum mujhse pehele kaisey pahunch gaye??" ...he replied "shortcut dear...!! " and there comes Madam ...and she sees us both together. I start to sweat badly, thinking all the possible answers to give her... "tum dono yaha kya kar rahe ho ??". I gulped. And he answered "Dhara mujhe newspaper dene aayi thi maa" showing the newspaper in his hand. "Dhara jao sabke ke liye chai banao.." madam said in her casual tone to me. "Vivaan ...tum bhi jaakar tayaar ho jao" Madam said to her son and walked away from there...and he smiled wickedly and said to me "tumpar mera ehsaan raha, bachaane ka.." winking at me he went from there.

And I was left blushing hard over there...I walked towards the kitchen thinking ...

probably He is the best thing happened to me in the years ...
