Diyaaa!! πŸ€— Great to see you here!! And love that you've stayed around with your thread - I can see that it's going great guns. I know where to drop in even if I don't do a RReview. I didn't realise that I was so dependent on inspiration for writing, but thanks to RR I know better. πŸ˜ƒ Hats off to the professionals who sit at their comp for 3-5 hours everyday and treat it like a job!! But I will try to post more often. Or just simply read your takes and enjoy the great discussions on your thread until I do. 😊

Agreed about the gloom and doom - am avoiding it too like the plague. But trying to keep an open mind to the upcoming story has never been more difficult. Hopefully, the CVs will give us a break!!

LA!! πŸ€— great to see you here!! And thank you for your lovely note - it's made me quite emotional. This RReview would have been incomplete without your comment and analysis. You must know it already thanks to your own following, but I'd like to say it as well: over the months, my RReviews have been enriched by your sharp and profound analysis. Irrespective of whether we've agreed, I've always looked forward to your insights, our discussions and our elation when our predictions (yours mostly) have come true. So thank you for the great times, and deep exchanges.
I would hate for this to be one of our last discussions. I was with RR when it was still a thread on the IPK forum, and ideally I would like to be with it at the close. It has galled me that AD has dragged me away from this lovely preoccupation. But perhaps it's been for the best as I'm not keen on inflicting another round of heartbreak on myself. I will miss you immensely if you decide to walk. I do wish you'd reconsider and stay on to make your brutally honest, incisive, insightful comments, even though as you so characteristically point out that the old order must make way for the new. And if not, I hope to bump into you elsewhere on the Forum. 😊
About the epi - there were at least three touches that moved me:
One was the Paro-Mythili conversation. Paro felt her jija's pain and soothed that sting. And has in effect handed her baby over to Mythili to bring up, should anything happen to her or Rudra or both.
The second was Rudra's diffidence about the baby. As you so rightly pointed out, given his traumatic upbringing, this was the logical reaction, and the CVs stayed true to Rudra. That fear is likely to gain ground and play out further, in my opinion, if Paro dies. Because then that will define what will happen to the baby.
The third was the start of the Aman-Sunehri romance: It def seemed to me that it was Shantanu's abusive behaviour towards Sunehri that provoked Aman into losing control and into giving Shantanu access to his gun. It might have been just the calculated cruelty that set Aman off, but I'd prefer to see it as Aman having feelings for Sunehri. Perhaps the CVs will pick up that strand in the near future. Aman-Nandini seems to be over before it began. Pity!! Because Nandini had so much potential. Now I wonder if we'll see Nandini at all.

I also look forward to your topic posts after every episode. I want to stay back to continue watching but I don't think I can bear to see Paro gone. The more epic the jodi the more epic the loss, and for me since I have rated Rudra and Paro as the best I have ever seen on TV the breakup of this magical couple is too gut wrenching, I have never been this heart broken I feel like crying. I have seen other shows where this has happened but you are sad for a couple of days and you move on I stopped watching for other reasons but not because the leads are dead. This is the first time I don't think I can bare to see the death of a character, it is too beautiful to end like this. The last time I wanted to ball me eyes out was when Snape died in Harry Potter, I was crying through the ending. I couldn't believe the injustice dealt to his character it wasn't that he died but it is he never got his due. Yes I too wish the writers implemented some of what we imagined, nandini story, giving tejawat more power more bite to his character, making laila understandable. Yes after next week RR I think I am going to be done with love stories my poor heart too much to handle. I am going to stick with my period dramas happy ever afters are my motto and life is complicated as it is to add all this extra unwanted pain. I won't regret watching RR because then how else would I have been amazed by Rudra an Paro and the bond they shares it is truly an ode to what it is to be in love.

"The last time I wanted to ball me eyes out was when Snape died in Harry Potter, I was crying through the ending. I couldn't believe the injustice dealt to his character it wasn't that he died but it is he never got his due."

Ahhh yes!! That was tragedy indeed. A 'proper' grey character, yet he managed to tug at my heart strings, and although I mourned dumbledore's death, it is Snape's that haunts me. How I wish he'd had some happiness or found resolution for his loss, his inability to save Lily.

"giving tejawat more power more bite to his character, making laila understandable"

That is one of my regrets for RR - the missed opportunity that was Tejawat. Laila I can still understand. She could so easily have been fleshed out, but then that may have made her role meatier than the FLs. I had always thought that Laila would lead us to nandini. Oh well!!

"The more epic the jodi the more epic the loss"

That then is the crux of the matter!! And PaRud are not only incomparable they hold our hearts!!

That is indeed the crux of the matter..that this pair was-IS an epic pair..And the reason why we are all so unhappy with Parud and not Sanish, being forced to part !

Loved your takes always, TVbug and this RRousing Climax was a perfect echo of the deep sense of loss I am feeling at a story left incomplete, at two soulmates being deliberately broken apart in order to keep pace with commercial crap. The magic of RR was built on a story of love that was boundless and wonderful, of two completely diverse characters coming together and completing one another...of love being what it should be about - complete faith and trust in one another...and the creators of this lovely saga deliberately drew parallels with the immortal and divine love of Shiva and Parvathi.

So how does divinity get killed? How does the new story justify Rudra as a protector when he failed to protect Paro's life? Isn't the story's most fundamental characterization getting destroyed completely? If there is no "Hamesha" then how will Rudra survive Paro? And if Paro, while dying, gets him to promise to stay alive and look after her baby, can we still ever imagine Rudra letting anyone take her place?

I wish the story had winded up nicely and logically to a "Happily Ever After". I'd have far preferred to keep fond memories of a 6 month super serial, than one of a never ending tale of idiotic scoops. RR was meant to be different for heaven's sake! And I'd have far preferred ST bringing in a Rangrasiya 2 with a completely new story and characters, with AS and SI in the lead again! What a treat that would be !

If only...

Piccola!! Lovely to see you here!! And what absolutely spot on points you make:
@ Rudra the protector: You only have to see PaRud's very own unique pose of Rudra standing between Paro and danger to realise that if Paro dies the way we are being led to believe she will, then all the PaRud brand stands for nothing. Because from their very first meeting, Rudra has protected Paro with his own mind, heart, flesh and blood. He has bled for her, engineered her false death, been engaged to her, taken slaps for her, eaten her share of poison... And now we're supposed to believe that his protection will be an epic fail and that Paro will lose her life as a result!! It would be laughable if my heart wasn't involved.
@ How does divinity get killed?: Yes, the Shiv-Parvati parallels that the CVs went out of the way to draw, definitely beg that question. I hope the CVs are not going to give us the reincarnation excuse - with Parvati being reborn as ... - , because really the viewers are not fools and can see through all such lameness. They had a good few options to explore to bring back the intensity and the TRPs. But they lost heart, stopped believing in their product, and rushed through the story (as they figured it out) at the cost of the viewers' emotional connect.
Gosh, I've been reduced to ranting!! A first for me on this forum!! But if they're going to trifle with our emotions, then surely they must expect some flak.

Sabs.. Your hammer and your aim at the nails in this pitiable coffin are working overtime! πŸ˜‰Thats not a rant. Thats calling it out.

My last, faint whisper of hope... Ashish, the man behind Rudra, who has never really lied to us ever, except when backing up Sanaya in one of her tall stories ( the nibbling rat! ) saying that there will be a kamaal ka twist, intezaar kijiye, justify hoga, a new chapter in Rudra and Paros lives, etc. Straws? Perhaps.

My one last word... Coma!

@Oldestfan...definitely straws...me too clutching...but we saw Paro breathe her last in Rudra's arms...lost consciousness maybe...Rudra's turn to beg God to save Paro's life...What will he offer in return? Baby born to justify Rudra not dying with Paro...he has to live on for his sake...

How about her heart transplanted to a look alike! Too far fetched... Let's see what's in store for us..
