parashuram's curse was that he would forget the knowledge to bhramastra when he is stuck in a dire situation... he had to overcome it... else why would karn have to get his chariot wheel out when he could stand on the ground and slay arjun... he knew he had to retieve the wheel so that he would get unstuck to overcome the curse...i used to think why did karn tried to stupidly get his chariot wheel outwhen he could just slay arjun as it is... my mum then cleared the confusion for me...
