Aww, thanks. I think it quite loving and respectful to call the lady in your life aap. Not actually in the way Asad and Zoya did which was very formal. She called him Mr. Khan to the point it was annoying. I mean, he was the father of her child and she still did. I think Khan would be more intimate if she did call him that as a joke. He called her aap from the start of their formal relationship, so it stuck.
Sanam thankfully calls him Aahil, even when she is the servant. She considers him an equal as she is self-respecting and had met him when she was an entrepreneur. And she had slapped him then! He called her tum like any normal person and then that tum became intimate as they became intimate. She calls him aap because he's older, simply. Now, since she takes this big position in his life, he would differentiate her from his exes and Nidha in particular by calling her aap. That would be a very Nawab-y Muslim thing to do cause she is essentially his Begum/Queen. Also, it would undo the servant thing now that she has a different status in his life.
Yes she is no servant. She is the cook. After all, it's like a chef. Even Latif is not treated as a servant. It is Khala, Khalu and Nidha that wanted to reduce Sanam to a servant, because or their attitude. Tanveer also thought of her as an employee but still treated her with respect. An employee is not a servant. I HATE the word servant. Maybe coz I have lived in the west most of my life. The word servant is offensive to me. Here no one is anyone's servent. You can be an employee. That is fine. To me that is what Sanam is. An employee of the Ibrahim house. Aahil was her boss. That's the long and short of it. Just coz you work for someone you are not their servent or their slave! Like Khushi told Arnav..."Main apke office main Naukri Kar rahi thi, Apki Ghulam Nahin Hun"! (Or something to that effect).
The same way Sanam gave Aahil back. I always loved their dynamic. Just like Khushi told Arnav off, Sanam always told Aahil off. After all, it is thanks to Aahil's antics that she had to come to Bhopal. She met him as an equal and she always thought of herself as his equal. I really like that in Sanam. Now she is his wife. The Begham of Bhopal. Coz technically, since Aahil's dad is dead, he is the Nawab. So that makes Sanam the Begham. Not Tanveer. She is now the former Begham.
Either ways, I hope Aahil gives Sanam the respect she deserves. Everyone deserves respect. Begham or not.
