Dev is shown to be a mama's boy. His mother stopped him when he first tried to come. I guess after that this detention came in. Piyualka when I read about detention even if you have visa you can be kept under preventive detention till whatever doubts they have on you is cleared. If no issue is found career or studies are not affected.
He was not detained for 2 years. Maybe for some 2-3 months is what I guess. Because trial might have closed quickly because Payal changed her testimonial and all witnesses were bought by Goenka's.
After detention lifted he tried contacting Nithya via his contacts in India but she had disappeared. He listened to his mom who said he should be completing his studies and complete his father's dream.
My contention was only on detention part. How Rajnath did it and why Dev is mama's boy that are questions still open.
If you are detained you cant have contact with outside world that is true for US detention is what I understood.
CVs could have easily handled this track in a better way if Dev was just a US returned scion of Goenka family.if they really wanted the hero to be part of the family. He didn't had any connect with Nithya or whatever and as he knows Durga gets connected to her and her cause.
Would have been a much plausible story even for a jealousy track, but then the problem with CVs is that when took ideas from Revenge they wanted someone for Jack. Since they cant have more than 1 hero for an Indian heroine they rolled all the 3 guys in Revenge into one. Dev😆😆😆
